"Sorry, this item cannot be shipped to your selected address due to local laws or Amazon policy. Please change the shipping address."

But it will let me buy other poolrx stuff on there just fine.

I'm using the baking soda and liquid chlorine method, (and a couple other things from pool school) and am a new pool owner. Should I have this on hand just in case I get green water?

If you lookup the MSDS for PoolRx you would find it contains 35%-50% Copper Sulfate. Copper will stain your pool and turn blonde hair green.

Suggest against anything but chlorine and acid/base.

That was my fear. The one thing I have learned so far is that companies love to sell excessive chemicals. I just woke up so am groggy and trying to sleep more but also hate to miss a good deal. I'll skip for now. Thank you!

So this unit is only chemicals, it requires to buy the plastic container in order to use it. Right?

The plastic container it a piece of copper and minerals. The refill is the minerals replacement. I had some copper pipe in the garage, cut in pieces and put it in my basket where the PoolRX basket used to go. So, I don't buy the PoolRX anymore.
They recommend replacing the basket yearly and replacement minerals after 6 months.

Or, instead of spending a lot of money on small prepackaged containers, buy it in bulk. It is used for a variety of things like root killer, fungicide, etc.
Here is a 10lb bulk order for only $28.

A little research says that this copper is chelated (whatever that means) and that at normal pH 7.2-7.8 will not stain your pool or clothing, and will reduce chlorine demand.
Also the cage unit is on sale as well
