Comparing the price of many items from a different century will yield similar results. Sequencing a genome used to cost over a Billion dollars, now it cost less than a $1000.

Except my 33 year old car, from the 1900s, still does everything a new car does. You're not doing much with a 486 in 2025 besides playing Wolfenstein 3D.
