Flavia by Lavazza is having a major sale on their new Aroma Brewer coffee machine, and I found a code that makes the price even better. This machine is on sale for $69.99, but with the extra discount, it's a deal.

Price Breakdown:
Original Price: $169.99
Sale Price: $69.99
Slickdeals Exclusive Code: FALLBREW (-$25.00)
Subtotal: $44.99
Shipping to my place is just: $4.76

Key Features:
Versatile: Brews drip coffee, tea, lattes, and hot chocolate.
Pure Taste: Uses a unique "pack-to-cup" process that prevents flavor transfer, so your coffee never tastes like tea.
New Features: Includes a 12 oz. brew size and a "brew over-ice" option.
Convenient: Fits most travel mugs (up to 7 inches) and has a large, 84.5 oz. removable water tank.
Compatibility: Works with Flavia Freshpacks from brands like Lavazza®, Peet's Coffee®, Bright Tea Co.® and more!
This is a great option for anyone looking for a no-mess, multi-beverage machine that's different from a standard Keurig.

Can anyone who owns this machine chime in as to how good or bad it is?

Uses expensive proprietary "freshpacks". That's a no in my book.

I don't own one, to be honest. But I did try Flavia coffee at someone's place, and it was the Lavazza pouch type. I absolutely loved it! It tasted very similar to the Lavazza BLUE coffee from my own machine. I'm also looking at the Amazon reviews, and they're all five stars from people who bought this exact same machine. https://www.amazon.com/Flavia-Aro...0FGMFBFPW?

Yeah. $32/lb equivalent for mid-shelf coffee (based on $60 for 100 sachets I saw on Amazon). If you're OK with the price for convenience, I suppose this isn't much different than any other pod-style machine.

I prefer the great variety of a non-proprietary combo, K-cups and Nespresso original pods. Lavazza makes coffee for both of those with more variety and at lower cost. With coffee shortages and rising prices, it makes better sense to go with cheaper options, or make coffee from ground or beans. I liked their Blue machines and coffee, but you had to buy 100 at a time, so very little variety and if you don't like a flavor or get sick of it, it really cuts down on your options.

I disagree. There is a plethora of variety and aromas in Lavazza BLUE and Expert capsules. You don't have to buy that many Experts. The Lavazza BLUE system itself has a wide range of blends, like the fruity Espresso Dolce and the more intense Espresso Intenso, so you can easily find a coffee you love without being limited to the Expert line. The Expert capsules, while often sold in bulk, are just another part of the system's overall variety. And their coffee tastes like a real coffee. Lavazza has over 100 years of experience as an Italian coffee company, and that expertise is put into every capsule. They carefully source and blend different beans to create authentic flavors, complete with the rich crema and complex aromas you expect from a proper espresso.

Agree 100%.
I wonder if anybody uses Lavazza BLUE compatible "rechargeable" capsules?

True. I've seen these Lavazza Flavia systems everywhere. Think car dealerships, doctor's offices, and even in hotel lobbies like Staybridge Suites. That should tell you a lot about how reliable and durable the machines are. They're built to handle a ton of use and still pump out a great cup every single time. You're also not stuck with weird flavors. The system has a solid variety from popular brands like Lavazza, Alterra and Peet's Coffee. The best part for me is the "freshpack" system. Each cup brews separately, so your tea doesn't end up tasting like coffee and vice versa.

The short answer is: Yes, Lavazza BLUE compatible "rechargeable" or reusable capsules are available, but they are not made by Lavazza, and their performance can be hit or miss. This is exactly why I stick to the original Lavazza BLUE capsules. While the reusable ones can save money, the quality is often inconsistent, and getting the grind right is a pain. I prefer the guaranteed, high-quality shot you get from the originals, and I just make sure to stock up when they go on sale. That's the best way to save money without sacrificing the best possible taste that you can get from those caps.
