Worst candy bar. You bite it, peanuts fall everywhere. The small amount that makes it into your mouth cuts it, and for what? A terrible caramel? Idk what it, is but it tastes like clay. And the peanuts are the lowest quality peanuts I've ever had. Idk how they vaporize into dust after cutting your mouth.
Literal 1/10 and I'm not picky. I give zero bars a 7.

I don't know how many times you've tried Payday. Maybe you got a stale batch.
I've never experienced any of those issues, and I like the caramel they use. Maybe you should try the mixing of candy corn and peanuts, like my wife does, to emulate these. You might like that better. I don't think that matches the real thing, though.
For me...Payday bars are a treat. Not my number one. That is Reese's. Also Snickers, Baby Ruth, Mr Goodbar.
I happen to hate Zero bars because of the white fudge, which tastes nasty to me. To each their own, though.
If you are concerned about getting your mouth cut, my advice is to avoid Cap'n Crunch cereal. So good but the consequences are brutal.
Thank you, OP, although I will resist for now. Payday is one of my top non-chocolate faves. I do my best to resist candy and such, with the halloween time being an exception, where I give myself about 5-7 days of indulging. Extra candy is then set aside and saved for trips and such (road trips, flights, hikes, etc). Being non-chocolate it does great in the heat. Just paid around $6.99 for a small bag just to have on hand for my one-week sugar-fest. This is a good deal.
If you get a fresh bag, they're the best. Yeah, you lose a nut or two, but nothing wrong with that. They absolutely don't last forever (unlike my girl scout cookies in my freezer, lol), and the caramel will start to get 'hard' around 4-6 months, and the peanuts will also start to not taste the best.
EDIT; after checking out the deal in more detail, it looks like there is a good chance these might be close to exp date, and for this specific candy, if that's the case - it will affect the taste/quality

I am curious. Where do you see that?
Note: You mean their "Best by" or "Sell by" date. They don't "expire" or go bad on that date.
They are going to stay fine for some time afterwards. And as this is meant primarily to pass out for Halloween, they should be fine.
Reviews. When many people are reviewing that dates on the bags they receive are close-dated, then I will surmise that the seller is probably getting these when they're being clearanced out from wholesalers, etc. Which is why they're a 'good deal'. I doubt the seller has a cousin in distributing that's supplying them for less than a major chain store.

Really? I didn't know that <sarcasm>. If you're a Payday aficionado and you can't taste the difference between a month and nine months old, then you're not a true fan. First, the caramel starts getting harder. Then the peanuts will start to taste 'off'. No different than peanuts by themselves. Didn't say they instantly mold in the bag - but they definitely go downhill in the taste department when they are approaching the date. Didn't say you'd die if you ate them a day after the date. Saying that Paydays don't taste as good when they are approaching the date. I'd like to think that, haven eaten Paydays for over 50 years (they were my dad's favorite), that I would and could taste the difference between a fresh one and an old one.
