I got two of these as refurbs for work. One thing I like is that at 75% of the highest setting, level three, the noise is very reasonable and as long as the unit is not right next to me, I don't notice it much.
If you compare the various models from winix, this is on the higher end for capacity. That means that if you have a room that's significantly smaller than what this unit is rated for, you can use it on a lower setting and get the same cleaning as a smaller unit on a higher setting.
Why is that? If you have a small room c610 might be a good choice.
The c610 is probably a fine choice, but the c909 is rated for a 30% larger room (500 ft² versus 384 ft²). This difference counts for a lot when considering how much cleaning the unit can do at which setting. C909 is a bit of a chunky unit so may not be a good choice for a small room, but if you ever need to use it in a larger space, the larger capacity will do a lot of good. In a small room, the c909 can clean the air on a lower setting, therefore quieter, then the c610 could. If you don't spend time in the room in question, that might not be a big deal, but noise level is everything if you have to hear it.
