Most modern phones have a full function usb c port, not all laptops do.
You can also use the usb c connection to power the monitor and use the mini hdmi for the video source.
This is reasonably priced if you do not want or need touch and are okay with mini hdmi.
As a solution provider/integrator, I only purchase these portable monitors with the touch functionality as well. For about twice the cost of this you can get a no name brand with full size hdmi, touch, good response, and vesa mounting options.
Understand that most that have vesa mounting as an option, you will generally only have two upper screw holes to mount with. These are also thin monitors so you will want to be gentle if you vesa mount on a move able monitor mount.
In the following photos you will see an hdmi cable, a full function usb c cable, and a standard usb c cable. The client wanted the flexibility to use either the full function usb c, or the hdmi for video and a standard usb c cables for power. He has a very complex setup with kvms and Dex docking stations. And those are two different portable monitors for different reasons.

The worst thing about it is the way it stands, like this one. A slight touch or movement anywhere and it basically falls. It doesn't stay in the grooves.
