These flashlights leave one wondering if perhaps wandering in the dark isn't just as easy but less complicated.

That's the size the flashlights take, to make them slightly more compact.

These actually work best with a single 18650 not AAAs. Using 3 AAAs will typically give you a total capacity of about 1000mAh while a single typical rechargeable 18650 will give you a total of somewhere between 2000 to 3500mAh, depending on brand and capacity.

If you're looking for flashlight, spend like $5 more and get something from sofirn or wurkkos. This is true especially right now when they're doing their 11/11 sale.

No need to spend double or triple for basically the same thing, these work great with an 18650. I bought a few sofirn or wurkkos, and recently bought some non brand and they're about the same, they just costed a lot more. I've bought probably 16 of these, A100 clones, and modified them to single mode. Great lights no issues. Can't beat the price.

Just don't over-discharge.

3xAAA adapter and mine came with a 18650 sleeve.
mine didn't have a end seal so i doubt it's water resistant,
it has a built in recharger. i paid $5.81 +tarrif&tax (without battery)
i'm using my own samsung 18650.

I think I'm the only one like this, but I have several loose 21700s instead of 18650s - went ahead and ordered some of these, if it has a sleeve to size up an 18650, they usually fit a 21700 raw dogged

Just make sure you turn your flashlight off when your done using it. Problem solved. Other than that, you'll naturally want to recharge it when it starts getting noticeably dimmer. Unlike 18650s of yesteryear (more like 10 or so yrs ago) Most 18650s they sell to end users nowadays are protected. Raw unprotected cells are normally sold in bulk to battery manufacturers that will use them to build large battery packs with a BMS to protect the entire pack. When you buy a single 18650 like at a vape shop or flashlight store, you're going to get a battery with built in over discharge protection. Using an 18650 with these is superior in nearly every facet over using AAAs. These flashlights will eat through AAAs quickly if you use your flashlight a good amount of time. There's really no advantage to using AAAs over an 18650 other than that they are more readily available at just about any store.
