depends on your media source... movies are "designed" to look best at 24fps. TV and streaming are typically 30fps. Some BD, PC, PS5, or XsX can do 120hz, but for most people, 60hz is just fine. Especially on a freakin' 86" $700 TV.

Aren't movies supposed to look better or smoother at 120/144hz because it is a multiple of 24?

in my opinion no. you get a weird camcorder effect - it removes all the frame effect design that is supposed to be there. Every frame of a film is obsessively curated by the director and editors... if boosting the frame rate made it better, they would have done that for the release. Built in TV processing simply cannot make movies magically better than the director/editor made them. The only subject matters that I personally like viewing in high refresh rates is live sports and video games.

Dude, its an 86" TV for $700. Thats what you're getting in 2025. You want 120, for your living room, pay the price.
