This is not a particularly slick price but I want to wholeheartedly endorse this kind of cable. I find it super useful to know how quickly something is charging.

Same. I got one randomly because it wasn't much more expensive than a regular usbc cable. I've been pleasantly surprised just how useful it is.

Yes these are really useful to see if your device is charging at the proper speed. For example my s23 ultra seems to be dead all the time and I couldn't figure out why. I have a super fast charger in my car and 15 minutes should get me a good amount of charge. But it's still always dying. I then got something similar to this and noticed my phone says super fast charging but it's actually only charging at 15W not the 25 to 35w I have seen on avg in the past. Ive swapped cables and chargers thinking that was the issue. But now im seeing fast charging notification on my phone but this type of device is only showing 5w. A measly 5W!. Turns out. It's my phone and now in know why my phone is constantly dead. I wouldn't have figured it out without this. We'll eventually i would have but at least now I know for sure it's the phone. Always have at least 1 of these for testing.
dont they have those inline things that can connect to diff cables/things and provide more data about charging?
They do, but they're not as convenient for every day use, and they can increase strain on usb-c ports too, depending how they're used. They're also typically priced around what this cable costs.
These aren't a 'gimmick' - it's actually really useful to be able to see power consumption when a given device is charging or running off USB, or what a specific USB charging block is actually supplying to your device.

However, I had this exact cable stop charging after less than 6 months of use.
