There are multiple catches. First, they're not rated 2500mAh, they're rated 2500mWh. 2500mWh works out to ~1667mAh at 1.5V. Going in the other direction, the Eneloops are 2520mWh. Also, many of the Lithium-ion AAs have outright fraudulent ratings. I wouldn't be remotely surprised if they were nowhere near the 2500mWh rating. Meanwhile, Eneloops tend to hit their (typical) rating almost exactly.

Lithium-ion AAs also have a much higher self-discharge rate, (most) won't give a low-battery warning before dying, can interfere with some wireless devices, and have a max discharge rate (which can be problematic in very high drain devices). They're also not as safe as NiMH. I only recommend using them for devices that won't tolerate NiMH.

Lithium-ion is probably the logical choice, however (1.6V) Nickel-Zinc exist (though they're not particularly common).

They have date codes stamped on them.

Yes. Look for rechargeable lithium batteries in this form factor. I've personally used Tenavolts for years, but there are some cheaper options now on Amazon and Temu that seem to also be working well. Pujimax I believe is the Temu brand I used

Good price, AA does not go on sale very often. I'd get some but I already have a bunch of spares.

Nice deal. How do I label my new ones to keep them from being mixed up with my old ones?

Has anyone tried using eneloop with blink cameras? They require lithium batteries which are more expensive

I bought some energizer ones. 4 pack of AA, two AA and charger from costco for $10 earlier in year. They've been solid

Yeah, it feels like most eneloop deals I see here include a charger, I'vebeen waiting for one withut because I don't need more chargers.

May be a silly question - is there a 1.5V equivalent to enelooops? thought I'd be set with 1.2v but certain things demand 1.5v

Sounds like a lot of effort. What would be the point? Just use them until they don't charge any more.
This from a guy who alphabetized his DVD collection..
