Wow. Tapo/TP-Link keeps getting better. Might strongly consider swapping over from my Wyze system. Impressive looking devices.

If you combine Tapo cams + switches you can build automation like if camera detect people turn on lights around the house. It works great.

I tried switching from wyze to tapo but tapos app ahd problems so i ended up switching back. Tapo app seems to go to sleep after 2 weeks or so and stops sending you notifications if i just open the app the notification resumes but i never know when it stops. Also the memory card on the tapo cameras needs to be formatted every few months. It just stops recording for no reason. If i format the card it works again but that is also annoying. I guess all this is fine if you're constantly checking your cameras but if you only check them when you need to they never seem to be working when i need them.

I've actually had the same issues with wyze cams for the issue with formatting the memory card every few months. I found out it was because it was a junk card and the car was done. Once I swapped it out with a different better memory card it stopped having that issue.

I've been replacing my cameras from Wyze to Tapo over the last year or so, never had issues with Tapo cameras or app, try to use high endurance SD cards, not sure what's causing app notifications to stop on your end, try to remove the app and reinstall it and see if it makes any difference.

That same card seems to work fine on my wyze cams though. Ill try swapping cards with one of my wyze cams again to see if it makes a difference.

Wanted to get into the Tapo ecosystem but when I tried to transfer my Kasa cams over to it I had nonstop issues getting them to work properly. Ended up switching back to Kasa. I'm impressed with these new devices coming out though. Maybe one day I'll try switching again.

Never had this issue with tapo app nor tapo cameras. I have 32 tapo devices and all synced to there app. One issue I had was router couldn't keep up with too many IoT devices.

Tapo solar cam doesn't give you 24 hour recording. Might want to consider hardwired if you want to do 24 hr recording. Solar ones do record at motion trigger. Note that they were late at motion recordings and got somewhat better with firmware updates.

This is most definitely your phone setting to somehow stop background activity by the app. Never had this issue on my iPhone/Android for the past 3 yearsNotifications are fast and object detections are almost perfect

As someone who used blink for the last 5 years. Thank God these are hardwired.
