One huge advantage is the quality of the screen. We watch a lot of movies on it when traveling, and the OLED makes a very noticible difference. Its certainly a luxury and the base iPad can do almost everything just as well

Under the Legal section it says:

"3Data plan required. 5G is available in select markets and through select carriers. Speeds vary based on site conditions and carrier. For details on 5G support, contact your carrier and see apple.com/ipad/cellular."|

Does this mean this comes with a 5G chip or is it wifi only?

$50 cheaper compared to when M5 wasn't around. I'll just pick one up from the store and save the shipping charge ($5). This will cover the holiday season nicely, in case it drops further within 90 days, given that it's the "old" model now.

That entire section under legal are probably general templates used for all iPad models since some do have cellular, so doesn't apply since I didn't see any "3" notated in the specs. Plus if it was cellular at this price this would be a fire sale on SD

Genuine curiosity - people that buy these (say, over the base A16 iPad), what are your main reasons? I love nice tech as much as the next guy, just wondering if this is indeed worth nearly 3x the cost of the base iPad. I understand that the M4 chip is on another level, but (how) do you take advantage of it? Or is it mainly because the iPad Pro looks/feels more premium (no judgment here)? Thanks in advance!

No, this is WIFI only. The ones that has 5G will typically say WIFI + 5G, they typically make it obvious in the title to make sure which is which.

I'm not saying this is necessarily worth the 3x cost increase but here are some benefits of the Pro models:
Significantly better display
Higher Capacity Storage
Apple Intelligence
Thunderbolt / USB4 for faster data transfer
Face ID
Better Speakers
Supports Pencil Pro

As much as these are expensive vs the base A16 (and as much as I dislike how iPad doesn't have a full OS). The Pro series has much better display, as well as sound quality and also very powerful. So, if you are single or just a couple who doesn't want to own a TV, this makes a rather nice entertainment system along with doing almost all you need for a personal computer. You can also take with you during trips and such. Not to say that the A16 can't do most of these tasks, but if you have a bit extra to spend for the nicer things. Oh these also have face ID which is rather nice.

Much smoother and better screen. Better camera, USB port speed, Face ID instead of Touch ID, four speakers instead of two, four microphones instead of two, Wifi 6E instead of 6, 7% lighter in weight, much faster CPU.

Whether those things are worth the price difference is up to individual preferences and use cases.

Thanks for the honest feedback. All the YouTubers talk about the amazing performance, and some try to daily it as a replacement for a laptop, but the consensus is that it comes up short compared to using an actual MacBook for actual productivity that could fully utilize the raw performance. Sounded like the iPad OS really limits the potential. I personally have a Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra, and it's basically a Netflix machine on the dining table lol. I was wondering if people using it in the real world could shed any light on any other benefits that this iPad Pro brings. Thanks!
