Bought one of these for the same price back in August. I use it frequently in my business and no complaints. FYI, the code works for more than one in cart.

Works good on Linux. I prefer the chunkier Fideco which is currently $11.47 but for $8 this is great.

I bought one back on sale for $8, it has one benefit, it's truly toolless. Other than that, it's made like a toy, completely plastic, and it doesnt hold the ssd in well or cool it well. But as a holder for a cheap m.2 and replacement for a usb thumb drive, it'll do

I have a stack of 256gb 2230 SSDs. This is cheap enough that I can justify getting use out if them.

Show off. Why can't we all have a stack of 2230 ssds lying around.

but I think I would get one that acts as a better heat sink and heat dissipated for sure if I was to buy one and had ssd to use with it

Since you have it up and running, can you check what chip this uses? RTL, ASM, or JM? The RTL9210B supposedly supports both SATA / NVME interface over USB, but I always got more speed out of the ASMedia based ones.

This is a good price for what it is but this thing is cheap. The size of the hinge mechanism and the enclosure thickness is all too large and that size doesn't even add any value since it is plastic and won't be a good heat sink. Sabrent has a more compact toolless model that is made of metal, should be <$20 at some point during the holidays.

According to the last thread, it has RTL9210B.

I hate it when they put their ugly logo on it. Is there a way to remove it nicely and cleanly?

It's not completely plastic, the lid is metal.
