Great prices, but Best Buy will not price match open boxes. I'm hesitant to buy now, especially with the "bigger" sales supposedly starting in the coming weeks.

Personally, I think there is a connection between the item price and open box price. If the "new" matching product goes on sale, the open box usually gets discounted along with it.

I have waffled back and forth between the M4 Pro and the M5. At this price, you can't get an M5 (and won't) with 24gb of ram. I don't think Best Buy or Amazon are even selling the 24gb/512gb variant. I'm sitting on a lot of Amazon GC money and if this was available at that price there, I would've already bought it.

This is accurate. Many items I've watched as open box will drop if the full priced item goes on sale/promo

I can confirm that this happens, though not a big discount. It still gets one. I've done this on 3 Macbook Pro's. One time though, I weaseled my way to get $200 off the open-box by telling the rep that the new in box model got a discount, so I should get the same.

Just return the open box and get another one if it goes on sale. Happened to me a couple months ago with my studio display. I bought open box and they wouldnt price match the sams club deal so I returned the open box, bought a new one and then price matched it.
