Be serious. A 5070 is $1300-ish from Lenovo; this is literally $500 less. The 5050 half decent if you set your expectations appropriately.

How is this a deal with a 5050? 5070 maybe.

It is Dell's latest innovation. If I am indeed correct, it can withstand drops and liquid spills without it damaging. It is also dust proof and the hinges are incredibly strong.

Edit: Hey, I watched a video at Dell Labs demonstrating it months ago.

Absolute joke of a deal. Thousand bucks down the drain (after tax) for a product that falls behind in every category across the board.

If only it was OLED with 240hz 1ms, then it's a deal.

These comments are insane. Expecting a 5070 or higher for this price with a 1440p display.
This is a reasonable price for a 1440p 120hz display with a card that can play the most popular games today (not all that demanding). Build quality on this is decent compared to the junk you'll get on a $500 Acer.

Avoid Dell laptops, quality control has become worse than what it used to be.

Yeah, the build quality is not so great anymore. Dell is no better than Lenovo. and this should be 600 at most.

They aren't insane, prices have gone up a bit and you used to be able to get 4060s from Dell for about $50 more than this, though that hasn't happened recently. The Asus TUF 4060 is still on sale for $150 less than this and it performs slightly better [youtube.com] than the 5050 on this in games. The 1440p display is nice, but since you have to go up to a 5070 Ti just to get an acceptable amount of VRAM it doesn't help in games. If this was cheaper it would be perfect since Nvidia has basically screwed over the mobile market by lagging behind in VRAM every generation since the 1650. It's happened with the 3050, 4050, and now it's finally caught up and made the 5050/4060 the best card they have up until the 5070 Ti if we're only talking mobile. I do agree that xx70 class deals are $950-1000 territory though.

Edit: Build quality seems good, but not above the TUF, as it also has an aluminum lid and plastic body. Seems like battery life is really good and one of the best options for gaming laptops. The 5060 model has issues with weaker performance since it only has 80W TDP, so the 5050 model should fare better. Turns out everyone else was right about the screen, since it has crap response times with an average of 27ms, and it the worst that Jarrod (Jarrod's Tech Video [youtube.com]) has tested in the past 5 years. If you connect to external it shouldn't be too bad.

If you're already gonna spend $800 you might as well put an extra $200 to get one with a better gpu
