You should do some research before supplementing calcium and vitamin D at the same time. Vitamin D increases calcium absorption and uses up magnesium. That can definitely cause an electrolyte imbalance, which is rather unpleasant. If you're going to take this, you should also supplement magnesium to keep your calcium and magnesium levels in balance. Also, since vitamin D increases calcium absorption, that can lead to arterial calcification. If you also supplement vitamin K2, that should ensure calcium deposits on your bones and not inside your arteries.

You should do some research before supplementing calcium and vitamin D at the same time. Vitamin D increases calcium absorption and uses up magnesium. Yes, which is a good thing for osteoporosis. Calcium, d, k and magnesium.

you should first ask yourself why are you supplementing and not getting nutrition through food? did you do blood tests and results came back with a deficiency? that would be my first step.

D 1000 IU is nothing. does not affect calcium absorption much.
4000 IU is the daily min amount recommended for adults.

Good point, 1000iu is a very low dose of vitamin D3.

It's very difficult to get sufficient vitamin D through food. According to research papers I've read, many Americans are vitamin D deficient. But you are correct, you should definitely get a blood test before supplementing; tests for vitamin D levels are accurate and inexpensive; have your doctor order it and it'll likely be covered by insurance. If you're below 50 ng/mL, supplements (or more sunshine) may be beneficial. But in that case, don't just supplement Vitamin D3; many people try that and after a little while they start feeling terrible and their vitamin D levels stop rising. Your body needs magnesium to process vitamin D into a useful form, so if you supplement D without getting sufficient magnesium via either food or supplements, you're going to have a bad time; you'll have an electrolyte imbalance, you'll have low magnesium levels, and your body won't be able to process the vitamin D you're taking. And sure, if you can get these nutrients via nutrition and sunlight, that's the best. Some leafy greens contain both magnesium and vitamin K.

For those who want more calcium to be absorbed, take with vinegar or lemon juice.
Calcium carbonate is more like acid reducer and not efficient to absorb.
Though unabsorbed calcium protect your large intestine from cancer.
