From what I understand Square was going out of business when they released the first one. So it was a Hail Mary kinda thing with whole "Final Fantasy" title being a tongue in cheek way of saying it was gonna be their last game. The game blew up and here we are 16 main titles later.

I would endorse this collection if square soft did any QA on the release.
These games have a guaranteed frame rate drop and stutter that will bother the heck out of you. Square never fixed it.

Damn, how do these have frame drops? Aren't these like old school pixel games? Crazy

I have never understood how you can have more than 1 Final Fantasy.

If these are the same series remaster pack that was released on Steam... they are ok. I haven't checked up on them in awhile, but the remaster pack basically ruined the difficulty of the games. They basically turned up the experience by 10 and made the game so easy a blind mouse could beat it. I was seriously disappointed with that. There was also no way at the Steam release at least to change the difficulty back to the original game mode.

I have played through the first three games in this collection on Switch and had minimal frame drops/stutters. My problem is they all have the same art style. Makes it hard to play one right after another

It's frustrating this collection does NOT contain the GBA version bonus content. Most notably, 4 of FFV extra jobs and FFVI bonus dungeon.

I think they remade all of them in Unity, and they ported it such that they did no QA on framerate.
Last time I checked, the same thing happens with NIER on PC, same thing happens with FF7 Remake Integrade on PC. Not conflating they are the same engine, but again, Square seems to be allergic to QA for framerate.

These games would have so much more value if they fixed these issues.

Having to grind 10 times more is the shittiest kind of "difficulty". Besides, don't have time to grind anymore, jobs, kids, sleep, hardly enough time to game. Although I do agree that they should have at least kept an option for people that wanted it.

The issue is that the game was balanced around that "normal" difficulty level with certain drops and encounters that are suppose to happen in certain areas that you were "meant" to grind in. So if you were suppose to grind for a certain time in an area that the devs expected the average person to spend 2 hours in, but you now spend 2 minutes it... chances are you might miss something. Something potentially important to the game in general. That is why the hamfist approach of just making them super easy was a fairly terrible idea. I don't mind the option for it, but it should have been released as normal difficulty with a difficulty slider for adjustment for those that really just rather blaze through the game.
