Bought a similar one from Acer via eBay refurbished early last year. Laptop looked brand new and was perfect except for one tiny tiny area of the screen which seemed a little brighter than other areas. Not like I ever notice it unless it is a solid white screen which is pretty rare. Thoroughly pleased with it and the warranty is nice peace of mind. Probably going to grab a couple of these for gifting.

I actually just grabbed one a few hours ago. Looks like a solid option below $250. I have other Ryzen 5 laptops and theyre decent performers for my needs. This will be the "Dining Room" laptop, so the kids will appreciate the touch screen - assuming it really is touch screen, since the title does not mention it, though the details do. I dont need a super bright screen, nor do I need a fact refresh rate. I just hope the viewing angle is decent. Reddit suggests this will do USB charging. My older Acer Swift 5 will, so I suspect it has trickled down to the Aspire by now. Reviews say the appearance is quite good for a refurb, which sounds promising since its not graded. But considering my kids are going to be the primary users, itll look like its been through a war zone soon enough.

Got one at $254, first one had sticky keys on the keyboard so I sent it back. Second one seems new and came with a laptop sleeve. CPU seems slow but it's a laptop for parents so touchscreen/16gb ram/1tb hard drive is nice for the price

Before I buy a refurbished laptop, I would check the price of the replacement battery. For Dell or HP, the replacement batteries are common and easily to find. I am not sure about Acer.
(Dell and HP batteries are usually $15 or more, depending on the battery brand)

For a refurbished laptop, usually the battery is degraded after a few years, unless they put in a new battery. I doubt they would do that. Actually, I contacted Acer and asked if they would put a new battery in a refurbished laptop and they did not give me an answer. So, I assume the customer gets the existing battery.
If I can't find the info of the replacement battery, I would skip that refurbished laptop.

I'm seeing mixed reports between two potential battery models:

AP20CBL or AP19B8K

But either way, it appears that both are readily available from various manufacturers.

This has many great features for this price. Ordered one. I prefer an R45 jack, so will get a USB one as many laptops don't have one anymore.

45% NTSC color range (so colors will look washed out, not vibrant), 245 nits brightness (dim). It does have an HDMI 2.1 port, so you can plug in a good external monitor.
