Shaw's Supermarket Chat Thread

This thread is being created for the OT chat that goes into the Shaw's Deals thread. We are a chatty bunch and have become an extended family. I heart the OT chat, but agree that sometimes we just want to read about the deals. So hopefully this thread will help decrease the OT in the deals thread and we all have a place to chat with each other.

I haven't been to RA in 8 months. If I want the +ups to print so I can use them on back-to-back purchases - do I have to do anything? If the up+ get loaded to the card - can they be used right away?

TIA

Few things I'm looking at at Target in the store, got a few things there on-line tonight, also got a few things at bestbuy.com (movies, it's like an annual tradition now laugh out loud) and toys r us.com, free shipping everywhere so why not! I hate going to the stores on BF, I may go to Target though, one thing I was getting at TRU got pulled out of my cart at the last minute cuz it went out of stock, may go there tomorrow to get it. Have to spend some ECB at CVS. Going tomorrow when the crowds die down though, not early, because I have to go out anyway.

I would try selling them for $5 a pack...what the heck...I think there is a CVS deal next week on Huggies and Pampers. I am going on vacation so will be in the land of sales tax oh my. My JJ went to size 4 a while ago. Huge leaks too.
Thanks for the advice Smilie
My closet is full of the size 4's, so I think I will hold off on any deals, for now Wink

I remember you socking away all those diapers... you know if you hadn't have bought them then you would have needed them! Maybe had a little peanut that needed the smaller size longer. Murphy's law.

Sell them and treat yourself to something - - you worked hard getting all those diapers.
Exactly what I told DH! If I didn't have that many 3's, she would have been a bean poll and in the forever!! The $ will go in the "beer money jar" we have, it's not for beer though laugh out loud kinda like a rainy day fund.

Quote from jencancan View Post :
Liz - Wow, great response on the diapers!!! Maybe you should keep doing diaper deals and resell them for profit! You are simply brilliant at finding diaper deals. What was the max you paid per pack? $1 or $1.50? I think it's awesome!
LOL, I don't have the energy to be doing the deals for myself these days, nevermind for reselling!
I got a few more e-mails after the initial 4, lemme tell you people out there don't read well before responding, most figured the $ wrong, by about half of what I listed, and everyone was asking for a "lot" discount... I even wrote on the post that my prices were firm... and I had everything spelled out to a T. The first lady I responded to (Thursday night, she e-mailed me at 8:30, I sent one back at 10:30, she said she could meet the next day so I packed up DH's jeep and everything and waited for her to e-mail me back), left me hanging until I finally sent her a second nice e-mail Saturday night saying if she didn't get back to me by Sunday morning I would offer them to the next person, I wanted them out of my house asap, and about 10 minutes later she sent me one back saying somehting like no problem, offer them to the next person... thanks for making me wait so long!! Annoying. Anyway I contacted the next lady and she was so excited, she has a 9 month old who is still in 3's and met my DH on Monday, I made out and she did too Smilie
I don't know that I'd say brilliant LMAO, but there were some great one's back in the day. I think I averaged about $2 a pack, these days though $5 is decent for me. I still think I will hold off, we have enough 4's for a while (although I have a bunch of the slip-on's that are smaller than other 4's, they don't fit over my babies chunky thighs very well Smilie) May have to sell those too!

Steve, before you buy anything, give them your card and tell them you want to opt out. They can do it at the register. Whether they load 2 card or you opt out, you now have to wait until after 6:00 am the next day to use them. Mad

Ang, thanks for the envelope!!!! You rock!!

Wondering if the girls doing the low carb diets started up again, and how it's going if so? Noungning and Jenny I think? Looking to do something, wondering what you eat for meals and snacks? Looking for ideas Smilie Since having the baby things have been crazy. Losing all the baby weight, plus some, right after having her, then gaining some back a few months later has been sucky Frown We have been purging the freezers of junky stuff though, not bringing to much more in the house, that we'll eat at least, it's a start!
