If you have an older home, this isn't for you. These require a Neutral Wire. Without a neutral wire, they won't work. I have a box of similar types that also require a NW and won't work on my old home.

After living with two of these for a year I can't recommend them. The paddle is not responsive sometimes if you don't press directly in the center or you don't depress it long enough, which is maddening when you just want to turn the light on. The most irritating behavior is when you press it quickly and it registers a something like a "double click" and the light turns on then off immediately.

If you VLAN these devices on a network without internet access they still work but the light on the paddle is constantly orange. You can disable the light but then you lose the nice illumination feature to find it in the dark.

These things are inexpensive for a reason.
