This. A16 doesn't have the laminated screen (among other shortcomings). Mini is the equivalent of Air. And a kid will not care about the smaller size, might even appreciate it.
Only reason to get A16 would be if you want the keyboard attachment.
These 128gb storage capacities on devices when memory chips can easily be in the TB range are criminal.
