I was an early adopter of Wyze and recommended them a lot. Their products have become lackluster and they hide many useful features behind a subscription. They've had their fair share of outages and privacy concerns and I no longer recommend them. Reolink followed by Tapo would be my recommendation over any Wyze camera now.

"Price
$32 lower (46% savings) than the list price of $69.98
$1.98 lower (5% savings) than the previous price of $39.96"

$12 higher (~50% increase) than last year's deal.

When was it cheaper last year? I guess I missed it.

I have been a long-time user of Wyze cameras and currently subscribe to their service. When the products work, they offer good value. However, I've recently experienced several issues with features that do not perform as advertised.

For example, a lamp socket I purchased arrived with the bulb holder detached before I could even install it. The three months of free cloud recording offered through a recent Costco promotion also required multiple calls to customer support to activate. Even converting my subscription from monthly to annual required an unexpectedly long support call.

Due to these repeated problems, I am now in the process of transitioning to TP-Link Tapo cameras

I guess I should have waited- grabbed 3 of these last week for $19.99/each. Excited to replace some OG's with these outside.

To be fair/accurate, it was a bundle with a year of Cam Unlimited (which was ~$35).

I wouldn't replace all the OGs. Have OGs, v3s and v4s. The OGs are always the quickest to show live footage.

I'm a Cam Plus Unlimited user and the only other device I have from Wyze is their scales. Not bad for the price. The cameras work for me at 2 homes just to monitor activity. Some cameras I've had since 2019. 2 door sensors tied to a V2 are actually still working. Would I give up my Nest Doorbell, Nest IQ Camera, or monitored security system for them, absolutely not.

The OG has a documented bug when viewing footage from the SD card. If you skip back 30 seconds, it lags. I've already replaced one OG. They insinuated they were going to fix this months ago & it never happened. I'm guessing that's why they dropped the price on them to $14.98.

100% agree, I meant just moving OG's to places where night visions not needed and putting these bad boys around the house. I been happy with Wyze and I just buy SD cards vs any subscriptions. Not as awesome as I'm sure other brands but also crazy cheap for home monitoring. Also highly recommend their vacuum- for $150 works just like a Neato.Have light bulbs and doorbell too.

Anyone tried the solar to power these at all? I figured I'd just buy some longer wires but was wondering. I am in South Florida so assume I will be good on sunlight year round.

These cameras are good if you have a clean wifi connection. I have about 10 of them connected to the paid service. These are one surveillance tool I used as they upload to the cloud and can have good events shown in the app. I also have a bunch of Amcrest cameras and a blueiris server working independently of the wyze cameras.
