Count on them sending you whatever model they want and the usb c cable not working.

But it is a better monitor than the cheap ones on Amazon. The speaker sounds good and it is smaller.

My guess is the phone does not put out enough power to power the monitor on it's own. I'm wanting to try this as well so good to know I'm not alone in seeing this use case. If you use the other USB C port to connect a power bank does/would that work?

Although I've never got a wrong item sent to me from them, but yeah DOA rate is not exactly low. I think I returned almost 3 out of 10 orders from them. But still buying because return was quite simple and trouble free.

Minor defects, defective ports are very common for me. Some of them damaged during shipping.

Bought this monitor last month from same seller. For some reason USB C to USB C from this monitor to Samsung Phone doesn't work. My samsung phone works with regular monitor via USB C. Not sure why.

Edit - my bad for reading your comment wrongly at first. Sorry about that.
I use a few portable display to connect to a ESP32 device for smart home display. And one was for travel usage. Also purchased refurb gaming displays from them.

Could anyone advise me on which monitor is better: the ACER PM161Q ABMIUUZX or the AOC 16T20?

I have both but returning the Acer because they didn't send me a cover, the AOC has the cover stand. Hard to compare since I could not find the AOC specs anywhere, lmk if you find it. AOC has 3 yr warranty but slightly bigger because of the thicker lower bezel, for me it puts it at the same height as the laptop screen. AOC build seems to be more sturdier, doesn't flex as much as the Acer. Acer needs its on power for full brightness, the AOC I didn't notice too much difference when powered via USBC vs own power. To add the MSI on sale at Costco has better specs than the Acer.

Edit: AOC cover worth it but adds a little weight

I got this monitor through work and it's kinda big for a portable, but that may be a good thing for some ppl. Personally, I wish it was smaller closer to the typical 14in business laptop screen size and the stand is more height adjustable or something. Otherwise it's a solid monitor; light and thin, can be powered by USB port on a laptop.

What is the difference between the two Acer models? Also, does this monitor include a protective cover?
