Might be a wild concept but the typical use for these is trim (baseboard, crown molding, etc) which is done when a house is being built. You know. Without the power hooked up. Generally any tool you dont have to plug into a generator for small tasks (like a drill or say a small miter saw) is preferable.

I needed a cheap miter saw - is this a good deal? Can I connect it to a regular electric outlet?

18 volt battery powered so no.... unless there is a adapter that someone has made.

Doesn't look like it. Typically they say "Hybrid" in the description if they can do both.

There's a similar model but corded for $55 (https://www.directtoolsoutlet.com...s/zrts1144). I have no direct experience with either.

Oofa, why would someone want such a humongous piece of equipment to be portable?
So you can do work on jobsites?

Thanks.. for my purposes corded would be fine. $55 for a simple one that cuts 2x4s or $80 for a sliding Miter saw that can cut 2x10s. Or you can go up to a 10" blade.

Hello? Yes I'd like to return this battery powered miter saw. Yeah, no, I didn't realize I was buying a battery powered miter saw when I added it to my cart. What do you mean there's a 20% restocking fee? How am I supposed to know anything that I'm doing? Why am I so persecuted? How did I get here?

I own this one and a Hitachi 12in. I use this one for small projects around the house. Swapped out the blade for a better 40ct one. Very clean, precise and accurate cuts. Good enough for trim work

Looks like a non sliding one, in case of any one looking for a reason not to buythis Smilie I would defenitely buy a sliding one. Although this cuts, sliding is more convenient.
