It's good, but not as good as it was before it was sold to the Kingsford division of Hidden Valley Ranch, which, by the way, is actually owned by Clorox (Quite an odd marriage). Hidden Valley has owned it for a long time now.

In the late 80s I lived in Kansas City for a couple of years. Coming from the Northeast it was my baptism into real BBQ. The local KC BBQ like Gates and Arthur Bryant blew my mind. Gates is my overall favorite and I still make the Gates copycat recipe that Ollie Gates was so kind to reveal to Martha Stewart https://www.marthastewart.com/340...ecue-sauce That said, KC Masterpiece was the first sauce I loved in KC. It was so different (and sweeter) than anything else on the shelf. Though, back then I'm pretty sure corn syrup wasn't one of the ingredients. It still has the basic flavor today, even with corn syrup. Anyone that mocks KC Masterpiece fails to understand how important they were to KC style BBQ, and how many brands were influenced by it. A lot.

It's a "rollback" so it should be available at this price for some time. I'll definitely be picking one up on my next trip to Walmart.

I've settled on this as my regular brand, as it's readily available and a decent value at regular price, which was $3.98 the last time I purchased at Walmart with my grocery pickup. The 40 ounce bottle is the perfect size for my usage. These don't have a dispenser cap, so I use one from an empty bottle of Nature Nate's honey, which fits perfectly.

Thanks for sharing the recipe link.

This has been my go-to BBQ sauce for a while now. I am not into sweet bbq sauces and this one kind of hits all the right checkmarks. Pretty good tasting bbq sauce and is probably the cheapest in its category. I use it for my sloppy joe sauce for sloppy joes. For this flavor and quality it is probably the best bang 4 buck. You cant find many good bbq sauces for this size under $3.50 so... not a bad deal. I ordered a few for pickeup. Thanks for heads up.
