The key differences vs. the 2021 model on Woot:
The 2nd Gen 4K Max has a newer quad-core processor and Wi-Fi 6E support (vs. Wi-Fi 6 on the 2021) (phonearena) , plus 16GB storage (vs. 8GB)
It also adds Ambient Experience (turns your TV into a smart display when idle)
That said, $26.99 refurbished for the 2021 model is still a solid deal if you just want reliable 4K/Dolby Vision/Atmos streaming. The 2nd Gen retails around $50–60 new, so you're saving quite a bit at the cost of an older chip and no Wi-Fi 6E.
