I don't know what kind of puritan community you're from but a tank top or sleeveless shirt seems like pretty common fitness apparel. I don't workout in this style of shirt exclusively but I do enjoy the free range of motion with a sleeveless shirt.
With all that said, I'm not a fan of this brands workout shirts. I tried a few and returned all but one. Expect cheap fabric and stitching with these. Not terrible for ten bucks but don't expect quality.

G Gradual is very good brand. I have purchased various items and they are extremely high quality and lasts a long time. This is not same as the other chinese brands but are more comparable with name brand quality that are about 5x their price. I would rate them as high as my Armani level clothing when comparing quality and fit.

In all earnestness, I'm surprised at the reaction to my post. I work out regularly but never really paid attention to attire - just wear shorts or joggers and a t-shirt. Would have considered this going into summer, but I still don't have an answer to my question... 😂
