I'm still really curious about the one consumer reports test that showed these adding a lot of microplastics into the water, compared to other branded products. I haven't seen anyone else test or verify this claim.
No, these filtering water to be near empty, almost to the extent of distilled water, isn't terrible for you if you're consuming a normal diet. Just don't rely on this if you're doing a lot of strenuous, sweaty work - in that case more food or electrolyte tablets can help, if not also going for straight tap water.
