Yes I know the barcode is the same at the bottom. I wouldn't put it past some employees looking to see they are different, maybe your store is nice and does not have those kind there. Not sure how these coupons work at the register yet myself. Possible Target may use the unique code to track down those using copies. As in destroying them, I guess we would have to be given that info from someone who works there and knows.

the short answer is probably yes, but i'm sure the real answer is w/ incredible amounts of luck, incredible amounts of time chasing them down as well as stores nearby who don't do their jobs so merchandise hangs around in overheads and doesn't get marked down properly and pushed out onto the sales floor in a timely manner. also, you have to sneak it thru SCO which is almost impossible for the really large items.

it probably really works for contractors who spend a lot of time in HD anyway and can use their finds on the job as well as people who manage their own rental properties, house flippers, resellers, etc.

i'm sure a lot of people use the thread like i do and just get the stuff at a reasonable price, cuz finding it at a penny can be just about impossible. i recently took a bike maintenance class and needed to by a set of allen wrenches after. i saw this one mentioned in the thread (last pic, t-handle allen wrench set, half price at 5.00) which was the exact same type the bicycle shop uses, so i went to look for it-

they didn't have any at all in my area but they did remember having it in the clearance area at one point. there was supposedly something like 72 of them at a store in the same borough as my parents and brother. the CS joked that they all ended up at that one store. for just one $5.00 set would not have been worth chasing around for it. my brother found 4 at a HD near where he worked. i had him buy 3, gave him one, keeping one and giving one to my BIL who has a couple bikes but very few tools at the 2nd home where the bikes are.

again, no store in my area had it. i found only 2 stores listed anywhere w/in reasonable distance of me, my mom's house and my brother's workplace. i happened to be in the vicinity of 1 store showing 2 in inventory and 2 employees could not find it and we really gave the overheads the eyeball, so they zeroed it out of inventory while we stood there. i wasn't hopeful about the store showing 3 in stock so i didn't even bother having my brother go look for it cuz he's not as diligent as i am.

i'm really surprised serra only hid those posts instead of deleting them. they were pretty bad. that thread is relatively entertaining, esp since the walmart thread has totally died.

I have gotten penny items before but nothing cool. My sister worked there at one time and got a bunch of flower pots and gave me some. She has hoards of stuff at her house from her home depot days. Like fireplace screens when she has never owned a fireplace in her life. laugh out loud

Hello Everyone!!
Summer vacation has begun!!
It has been a crazy busy year already. Who knew a 16yo and 20yo could keep you so busy. lol
We went with DS to his National Business competition at Disneyworld. They didn't place but had a lot of fun and some great experiences, so well worth it. PLUS..DH and I was able to have a mini vacation. Which was great.
Now we are preparing DD for her move to FL in August (she starts the Disney college program then). We will take a week off to go with her to get her settled and.. to vacation of course.

Opened our pool up and have been trying to get it situated. But the rain is not helping. Water is still a little cloudy but saltwater generator should help once we add some more salt. So much easier this year since we had the long hard winter here. That helps kill all the yuck in the pool.

So since I am in major money saving mode (these trips are getting the best of us Smilie )...
I was wondering if any of you shop Aldi's? I have ended up doing quite a bit of shopping there since the deals at the stores seem to be lacking. I have found several things my family doesn't like or won't switch to. But in general it seems to be pretty good. I was mainly wondering about their meats?? Do you find them cheaper than walmart/ target? Is the quality okay? I have been too afraid to try any of it.
Any suggestions?

I've been shopping at Bottom Dollar Foods & Aldi quiet a bit more recently. I've found the prices on bread, produce, eggs, & milk much better then anywhere else. Bottom dollar meat is a hit or miss, some things are fine like chicken breasts but the ground beef I've found has some bone chunks once in a while so I stopped getting it. Aldi meat looks good to me but I've only gotten 1 or 2 things from there but I know others who trust it.

Now that Home Depot thread looks like fun if only I can figure out that whole date thing + the 8 month and 7 days.
