Predict the ranking of teams by division. Pick your wild cards and tell me who is going to win it all.

AFC

AFC EAST
1. Jets
2. Patriots (WC)
3. Dolphins
4. Bills

AFC NORTH
1. Ravens
2. Bengals (WC)
3. Steelers
4. Browns

AFC SOUTH
1. Colts
2. Texans
3. Jaguars
4. Titans

AFC WEST
1. Chargers
2. Broncos
3. Chiefs
4. Raiders

NFC

NFC EAST
1. Cowboys
2. Giants (WC)
3. Redskins
4. Eagles

NFC NORTH
1. Packers
2. Vikings (WC)
3. Bears
4. Lions

NFC SOUTH
1. Saints
2. Falcons
3. Panthers
4. Buccaneers

NFC WEST
1. 49ers
2. Cardinals
3. Seahawks
4. Rams

I would love to see a Ravens v. Packers superbowl - but I can't pick my team to win it all and jinx em.

So I say Chargers v. Packers Superbowl with the Chargers winning it all..

Soooooo are we feeling, anyone, anyone, that the Super Bowl Loser curse will fall upon SF?

We know the Ravens will. I don't think losing Ray Lewis, T-Sizzle a year older, and Ed Reed bordering on retiring along with Ngata makes for a team going back to the Super Bowl the next year. I figure that's a safe call. But are we feeling SF either failing to make the playoffs OR failing to make it to the NFC Championship? If so, who goes from the NFC next year?

Personally I still give the Ravens a good chance. I think the loss of Ray Lewis won't hurt as much as some think. Sure his overall leadership on and off the field will be gone, but he has aged and hasnt been that great in pass coverage. I think what we lose in leadership we may gain in youth and ability in his empty MLB spot.

Suggs and Ngata will return healthy, retirement is a long way off for Ngata. Reed may be the difference.
The offense shouldn't change too drastically, the only concern of mine is the possible loss of Matt Birk to retirement.

Oh yes, forgot to mention the return of Ladarius Webb will have a huge impact on our secondary. As long as the ACL injury hasn't completly changed the guy that is.

However, with the 49ers age, and teams like NE and DEN chomping at the bit, I do see a higher likelihood of the 49ers making it back. That being said, I don't think any speculation even matters this early on. Even if this was wildcard week of the playoffs, theres no telling who is going to get hot, or not.

I could tell you that nobody saw how much Brian Dawkins meant to the Eagles, but we also didn't have anyone to step up and take his place with our youth movement.

Flacco can be that guy for you, but he's never going to replace the General just like we never could replace Weapon X.

You sure about that? Yes, he wasn't the greatest in pass coverage in his later years and compared to his run stopping abilities, pass coverage was a weak spot. But seriously how many touchdowns or big plays happen dead across the center of the field where the MLB covers? How many TDs was Ray beaten on in pass coverage? I think it's a marginal measurement of what is lost to the Ravens's D. But make no mistake his run stopping ability and his ability to track down the ball and be involved in stopping the forward progress of the ball was uncanny and you can't replicate that. The next MLB isn't going to just up and be the next Ray and there will be some weakness in the middle, especially if the front 4 don't get it done and the RBs get to the second level. Then you'll really see the impact. Leadership is marginal as Ed is still back there and he is just as highly touted as Ray when it comes to that defense, same with T-Sizzle, and even Ngata for that matter. If they solidify the corners and keep strong at the outside backers then maybe it won't matter as much in the middle, but we'll see. Usually after a major leader leaves like that, there is a big drop off.

Anybody remember the replacements for Singletary, Ken Norton Jr (both Dallas or SF), and Butkus? Poor Chicago went through that this year with Urlacher, just imagine how it's going to be when he retires.

We have dealt with Ray being gone for injuries for periods of time and our defense has stepped up. The losses the Ravens had during Rays injury this season were not because of the defense. They were due to a predictable OC and then the growing pains of transitioning to a new OC.

I am sure there will be some drop off from the lack of his presence alone. But I think we will see this defense bounce back much stronger. The league is changing, TEs are getting bigger and more involved in the passing game. Teams are no longer trying to pound the ball like they did years ago. I do honestly think one of our younger guys will make a bigger impact in pass coverage from that position.

I think I am overly hopeful of course, but I am a true Ravens fanboy homer haha.

I can see what you're saying and there will be some drop off, but maybe not a completely collapse and I'm not say there is going to be a collapse. But they are aging and their vocal and spiritual leader is gone so until they find their identity again, it may be a lil bumpy along the way.

Kyle: Dude! I almost thought those Afghani kids talked you into not liking America.
Stan: No, dude. America may have some problems, but it's our home. Our team. And if you don't wanna root for your team, then you should get the hell out of the stadium.
Kyle: Yeah.
Stan: <salutes the American flag> Go America.

NE screwed up letting Welker go. He's gonna shine just as well in DEN. That shit's gonna come back to bite NE.

Redskins have been nonexistent with no funds cuz of that stupid BS cap penalty. We had to cut CB Hall which I don't really mind but damn. I wish we could get CB Woodson but that ain't happening. At least our 2012 injured players are recovering well and will be set to play this season. (Brian Orakpo, Fred Davis, RG3, etc...)

Edit: I can't believe BAL traded Boldin for a freaking 6TH ROUND draft pick? INSANE. They lost Kruger (their 2012 leading sacker) as well. But it's looking like SF & SEA are gonna be beastly this year.

cause SF/SEA don't have to pay for a franchise QB
they have their franchise QB locked up for another 2 years.
Baltimore broke the bank with their Franchise QB
no $$ for retooling now.
