New to Mac - how to view shared folders from Win 7 PC??
Finally broke down and bought an iMac yesterday. Daughter is having several projects in high school that she hasn't been able to spend much time working on except in class or in their library. So in order to get her the tools needed to make her more productive with her homework we decided to get an iMac. As soon as I got it hooked up yesterday she spent 7 hours working on a project.
Question - I have a wireless network which the iMac connects to very easily. My other main computer which is hard-wired to the network is Win 7 Ultimate which houses all of my shared folders like Documents, Music, Pictures, Video etc. I would like to connect the iMac to the Windows 7 PC and have a folder on the desktop of the iMac that goes directly into the shared folder on my PC. Is that possible?
I searched on Google and could not fiind the exact answers needed. I was able to connect to the PC for a brief time going to Finder>Connect to Server> smb:\\ip address of PC. When I closed the folder I was in, I was not able to reconnect to the folder again.
