Purchase Amazon gift card with Best Buy gift card

For anyone looking to use their Best Buy gift cards to purchase Amazon goods, I just found that you can buy kindle-labeled Amazon gift cards at B&M Best Buy stores. I rarely find any good deals at Best Buy but BB gift cards are still a common gift to receive so I assume some fellow SDers will be in the same boat this holiday.

Going through plasticjungle you'd normally pay $8 commission on $100 exchange, plus you have to send in your card and wait for the exchange by mail. Not a "hot deal" but didn't know where else to post this where shoppers could make use of the info.

Only catch is that the cards are only available in $50 increments, oh and I haven't actually tested the gift cards to make sure you can buy anything at Amazon.

If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Edit - This is a pretty sweet idea.
That being said, if it works this would be awesome for those of us who hate actually shopping at BB but have some cards. TU for the idea if nothing else.

#2 is the big one. If it's only good for Kindle it's useless for most people.

It would be great if it works for all items, but too bad its not under $50. I dont purchase from Bestbuy very often, I can usually buy things like cell phone cases, DVDs, cables, ect 30% or more cheaper off amazon. Its very rare Bestbuy has a good deal. I bought the Nexus S on contract from Bestbuy last week with the $10 data plan on tmobile, and they switched it to the $30 plan without my consent. I spoke to a supervisor, and they told me they will not honor the $10 data plan even though my reciept says $10 per month. I submitted a BBB complaint, and havent got a response yet. This is what I get for buying from them, but the phone I wanted is exclusive to Bestbuy though.

I used a $100 of a Best Buy gift card today to purchase two $50 Amazon gift cards. I was in the store looking for something I wouldn't feel shafted on when I spotted the gift cards in the eBook section near the front.

The card reads on the middle front: amazonkindle Give the gift of reading
Bottom front: Amazon Gift Cards are good for Kindle books, accessories and millions of other items on Amazon.com

On the back it says, "Shop for Kindle books and a lot more with your Amazon.com Gift Card"

In the fine print it also notes "Amazon.com Gift Cards may only be used for purchases of eligible goods on Amazon.com or its affiliated website Endless.com"

So, while I haven't made a purchase yet, there is nothing to indicate that it is specific to Kindle books and accessories.

^^^ Great to know. Thanks.

The $50 increment shouldn't be a big deal if you are a frequent amazon shopper. If you have $25 on a BB card and use amazon a lot then just pay the extra $25 for the $50 amazon card. You were going to spend the money at amazon anyway.

Nice, I'm gonna buy a $100 Amazon GC then, thanks. Their service is great and prices are the lowest (for the most part).
