P and C reported, Spring Training is underway!!!!!!!!!!!

I was just looking up the Tiger's Rotation, we signed Brad Penny...I hope he is a Kenny Rogers and not a Dontrelle Willis... [edit: it was a Willis....Doug Fister was our Kenny Rogers]

But, the average age of our starting rotation is 26...how crazy is that...

He sure did. Jay Bruce was already well around second on his way to third when Revere caught it. Doubled him up easily. nod

Congrats to Homer Bailey for throwing the year's first no-no!

And he also threw the LAST no-no in September, so he's had the last two consecutive in MLB. Crazy!

What is more impressive to you guys, multiple No-Nos or a perfecto?

27 guys have done multiple No-No's and 23 guys have pitched a perfecto.

Also, Homer Bailey is the worst pitcher to throw multiple No-Nos, that isn't really like the skinniest kid at fat camp...but more like the dumbest person at a Mensa meeting..?

I think I'd say multiple no-no's. That means you have the skill to get it done more than one time, whereas a perfecto means there wasn't an error by your defense, or something else stupid that could ruin it. Perfect games are amazing, don't get me wrong, but there's so much that can go on behind you that there's usually a lot of luck involved.

Also, I don't get the bashing on Bailey. He's got great stuff when he puts it all together, but he's been known to have a bumpy start from time to time. Mark freakin' Buehrle has two no-no's, he's worse than Bailey.

Also also, Yahoo are idiots, reporting that Bailey is the 31st with multiple no's, whereas he's the 28th.

Also also also, ipso facto, Curtie is an idiot for reporting that Bailey is the 27th laugh out loud

Haha, MLB Network said 27, probably "27 Others" or something of that sort?

The stats don't lie!

Homer Bailey now has a 4.36 career ERA -- the worst career ERA for any pitcher in history with multiple career no-hitters.

PitcherERA
Homer Bailey 4.36
Hideo Nomo 4.24
Bill Stoneman 4.07
Carl Erskine 3.99
Mark Buehrle 3.86

I don't base "worst" on career ERA.

Don't start with that WAR sh*t... laugh out loud I didn't know much about Homer, but based on his interviews last night, I don't like him!

Haha, I wasn't speaking of WAR and whatnot, just speaking in general perception of a pitcher. I've never consider Buehrle that great of a pitcher, despite a half-decent ERA. I think Bailey still has time left.

And yeah, you used a "[*]" to separate the header row, inexplicably laugh out loud

Bailey just seems like such a tool. I don't want to like him.

it was a random guess when it wouldn't give me a second column. I also tried a "-----|" like you have used but that didn't work either laugh out loud

Yeah, I use that sometimes to give spacing. If the numbers are all on top of each other, I'll space out the header a bit to give it some structure. /nerd
