i think it should be offered at schools just like driver's ed.. not just in the rural schools but also in the urban schools..
I'm all for a non-permit thing along those lines. And that's what plenty of schools used to do ANYWAY. If we're going to have a public school system, may as well teach kids something useful.

It just seems like a lot of wasted time and money for not much benefit to me. And the objective should not be to make it harder for law abiding citizens to obtain firearms, which is exactly what that would do in my opinion.
Vermont hasn't required any certifications or permits for gun ownership or even for gun carrying for 200 years. Many other states aren't the same but are similar. Last I looked, there are 1000 or less fatal gun accidents a year and around 20,000 non-fatal gun accidents a year. Those are low numbers for a population of 315 million and a ton of guns.

Those stats don't even tell the whole story since plenty of those accidents are by kids who shouldn't have had unsupervised access to guns anyway. Meanwhile, the number of vehicle accidents even by adults with driving permits is FAR higher, yet they aren't required to have a permit to own a car.

There's a 10x or 20x higher chance of being injured cheerleading than injured while hunting with a gun. And that stat includes all injuries, not just gun injuries. Cheerleading and car ownership don't even have a "shall not be infringed" Amendment going for them, so if one of these things should require a safety permit, would think it'd be cheerleading or owning a car.

the only other upper lower combo i would consider in the class with the Mega combo's would be a Seekins Combo.. to me the seekins ambi lower is slightly better than the Mega Ambi lower.. the seekins has a set screw built in that you can use to take up the slack in the trigger.. and now that Mega stopped making the monolithic uppers and have split them, the two peice uppers are almost identical with both companies

Local shop had a plain 6920 for $850 out the door, brand new. Your thoughts?

the NRA convention.. its kind of a big show i guess..

i'd take the colt for $850 over the magpul version.. why pay extra for the basic stuff you will be replacing anyways..

I think its a screaming deal, id probably buy it just to have another at that price.

I also happen to be a fan of magpul stuff, they put out good gear IMO.

Looks pretty solid. For 22 pistols I generally recommend the ruger mark II or a browning buck mark. I have also heard good things about the reworked walther p22.

Let us know how it handles. 22 pistols are always a blast.

so i assume if it takes 22 magnum it handles 22lr and any other 22? Looks like a solid gun but how would I know... I have a m&p 22 and it shoots pretty nice. If we have to take a shooting test for ccw in illinois I will probably use that.
