It's a 7 hour drive from Nashville to Chicago, too bad it's a little farther to the Smokey Mountains

Lake Michigan Beaches, South Haven, Grand Haven, Holland Tulips, Traverse City, or even Mac City and Mac Island. All very nice. SIlver Lake Dunes,

Madison is a wonderful place to visit, they have one of the best farmers markets in the nation on saturday mornings at the capital, you can rent a bike and ride the trails along the lakes, rent a kayak, try one of the great local restaurants, easy access to state parks as well.
