What does Offer-Show status mean?

We are first time home buyers and our realtor showed us a recently listed house two weeks ago. The house was listed active till yesterday and it show Offer-Show today. Does that mean the seller has received an offer but is still looking for other offers?
We were thinking of putting an offer sometime early next week.

yes.

Basically they are in the process of dealing with an offer (which is often back and forth), but they are still showing the house.

It's listed like this because some people don't want to bother with a house when there's an offer on the table.

However, the seller is likely still willing to accept other offers.

You will see that with contingency offers, the buyer's have a condition, usually selling their house first, on their purchase contract. Also I see this on some types of loan conditions-down payment assistance or state grant monies.

Any offer placed after these, even for less are still considered and can win the house, but the original offering get the right of first refusal, and they usually have 48-72 hours to complete their offer. If they have a house to sell, that may not happen.

The right of first refusal is that the original buyers have 48-72 hours to remove their contingency or withdraw from the sale. If they don't have the money and need the sale of their home for part of the down payment then they would probably withdraw, otherwise they won't make the sale of their home contingent on the sale.
