The only thing that's all you can eat at outback is the bread...and its always been that way
I'm a bread fan, but only if it is good bread. Macaroni Grill has good bread, as well as Market City Cafe (SoCal). I've eaten so much of the bread at those places that I couldn't even start the entree
Just came back from an outback in san diego. First saw the deal on the menu but it wasn't $15. I then asked if they had the $15 sirloin and lobster tail deal and the waiter said didn't know and would asked the manager. I told her ill just order that hoping that the deal would just go through. At the end of the meal I was charged the full price ( $21.XX) and asked about the deal again. The waiter went back to ask the manager and she came back saying the deal doesn't apply at that store because something along the lines of you only get 2 piece of lobster tail and a 6oz sirloin stake. I got 3 and apparently the 7oz size. I don't know how much of a difference it would be from 6 to 7oz. Another thing she pointed out why the deal wasn't going on at their store ( or she said any store in california) was because it cost more for them ( and california) to get lobsters? Lesson learned here is always ask before ordering. The food was good, but it would have been better if it was at $15 haha.
It's very hit or miss. I've found the sirloin is always as good as the filet so I only order the sirloin. Sometimes it does taste like rubber, sometimes it is excellent. Obviously not what you would get at a high end steakhouse but we're talking about a $10 steak.
Outback sucks!!
I'll threadcrap an Outback thread EVERY time to help save some poor soul his or her money!!
If you want a GREAT steak, ask your friends and family about "mom & pop" or "non-chain" establishments in your area. Inevitably, you'll get better food, service, and value!!

This guy probably got turned down from a job because he was too dumb to remember the menu. The servers there are well trained and above average. (Unless, of course, you end up with the manager's blonde daughter!)
Agreed the steak is not Ruth's Chris quality. But it is usually pretty good - I've received worse steaks at Morton's for 3 times the price.
I went to an Outback recently and had a steak that may have been one of the best I've ever had. I was surprised at how good it was. Granted I do not usually have steak when I eat out as I can make a good steak easliy on my grill, but this steak was definitely yummy and tender.
Outback, like any chain is hit or miss depending on which one you go. The one in my area does not cut any corners and their steak could compete with the best of anyone. I have been to another Outback that I could have swore was serving steak play toys for dogs on the menu, and the whole store was grimy and made us all feel ill in my party.

I knew of a guy in the heart of cow country in Texas that did just this. The answer? It was Longhorn Steakhouse. He was quite surprised, as was I when he told me the story.
For me, the last few Outback steaks were pretty bad, so I haven't gone there in years - although the wife said the ribeye (?) was good.
Oh, and I went to Ruth's Chris before. While I thought it was good, I'll take my own grilled steak over that any day.
