Thread Details

I think this would be a great outlet to post our concerns, rants, etc.....on our WAGS experiences due to low stock, new ECers, & S&Gers.

For what it's worth I do believe that low stock is more of an issue than S&Gers, but they and new ECers are definitely playing a huge role in the issues that we are all encountering. Frown

I'm curious about other people's experience with the Laffy Taffy at their stores.

For a long time people here on SD posted about the 10-cent Laffy Taffy at their stores that they used as a filler. My local stores did not have it at that time. I work very closely with 1 of my stores and have developed a good relationship with the manager. So, about 2 years ago she started ordering the Laffy Taffy for me but she had to get it through a separate vendor. Needless to say I was thrilled and enjoyed having it as a filler for almost 2 years.

Then, last Fall (Septemberish) I noticed that the Laffy Taffy was dwindling down and they ran out. I talked with the manager and she said that the particular vendor that she was ordering it from no longer had it. At the same time our area (Midwest - Wisconsin) was changing vendors for Candy, etc. She said that this new vendor had it and she ordered it. But, every week I would go in and still no Laffy Taffy and the manager said that she had made inquiries and was supposed to get it but it just never was included with the order.

So here we are and it's almost May and it seems like the Laffy Taffy is gone forever.

Recently I have seen others mention the Laffy Taffy -- some people seem to have indicated that their stores no longer carry it and others seem to still have it.

It would be great if people could post their area stores' status on Laffy Taffy -- i.e. did your stores ever have it and if so do they still have it and if so do you know which vendor your store gets it from? Also please indicate what region you are in.

Thanks.

We just got Laffy Taffy in the past six months, but it's 3/$1 PER PIECE.

No clue which vendor. I don't think this has ever been replaced. At that price, it's not selling.

I have seen the Laffy Taffy (for 10c) at only one store out of tens in DFW. This particular store is very pro-couponer and clearly has obtained them at customer request for purposes of being a cheap filler. I have not seen them anywhere else.

I too had great relationships with Managers in WI. Laffy Taffy dwindled in July 2012 and I asked my favorite Manager to reorder it. She told me that she could NOT order it anymore and that I would need to find a different filler to use RR's.
I think Walgreens Corp actually figured out that the coupon shoppers were using them as fillers and put an end to it in the WI area. I too am curious if any Walgreens stores in IL (where Corp headquarters are located) sell $.10 Laffy Taffy. There were stores in the Madison area that sold $.25 Laffy Taffy which was too high for me to pay after being spoiled by the $.10 price. I believe Walgreens knows the dilemma us couponers are in when trying to find fillers to use the RR's. I'm so tired of having so many transactions that are off by $.01 and always need a filler. A couple years ago it was easy to swap RR's even without the Laffy Taffy but Walgreens are onto us now. Frown

Just got home and checked my receipts. Nine back-to-back transactions with only the Probiotics, all using 5,000 points to pay each time. Just noticed on one of my receipts that the cashier redeemed 10,000 on the third transaction, instead of 5,000. Mad

I know this has happened to me before but I noticed it before I left the store and got it fixed. Can it be resolved over the phone, via the Wags BR dept? TIA!

I'm done with yard sales after I empty out my garage next Saturday. I'm tired of getting into fights over coupons and the economy is so bad that most of my customers can't afford to buy anything.
Do people actually argue over you having used coupons?

Yes, I had an especially bad week with coupons at CVS and Ralphs. Then I had some drug crazed psycho come to the sale on Saturday swinging a baseball bat and screaming randomly at everybody. I'm done with yard sales after this weekend. I'll still shop for us but that's it. Fortunately, I don't count on the yard sales for income so I'll just have a lot more free time on my hands...

I have some awesome wine tags with no wine purchase necessary for people in the following states:

AR, HI, KS, MD, MO, ND, NJ or RI.

They are $3.00 off ANY ham purchase(think lunchmeat)

and $2.00 off Organic Produce.

I have enough to split among 2-3 people but they expire 4/30 so I need to get out ASAP.

Pm me with address, only contributing members please.

Whoa. What happened? Did he just wander off or did you have to call the police?

He ended up wondering off but it was pretty close a couple of times. The guy was around 20 years old, 6 feet tall, 180 lbs, and stoned out of his mind at 7 am on a Saturday morning. None of us had ever seen him before but we do the sale in a high drug and crime area so we're kinda used to it.

Okay, so I’m bored and there are no new ads/deals. I checked out some of the blogs and found one where several people were excited because someone saved about $200 on their latest Wags shopping trip. But when looking at their posted receipt, it shows that sometimes these savings can be illusionary. First, about half of the savings come from Wags sale prices and promotions. Now sometimes, as we know, those can be sweet. But usually it’s the case that Wags is so overpriced that you can get the same amount of savings by just driving down to the Walmart. So I don’t really count the difference between Wags normal shelf price and their sales as a savings. As for the other half of this person’s savings, it looks like he/she just burned all their RRs from last week’s sale. That’s great, except you have to account for how you got those RRs in the first place. Sometimes that’s okay. For example, if you really need some Crest and then burn those RRs on something else you need, that’s savings. But burning an Allergese RR doesn’t seem like savings to me. Anyway, I’m sure there was some savings there. It’s just that we have to be careful so that our coupon addiction does not convince us that we are saving more than we are.

Yeah, I was thinking either drugs or mental illness was in play. Glad no one got hurt.

I tried them & liked them, too. Not sure if they are the sole reason, but I've had 2 good nights sleep in a row...
also my cat takes this probiotic, so it's nice to get FARR stuff we will really use for a change Smilie

I also liked the Allergease drops from the week before. Only got a few packs, but they taste like honey-ed Riccola. Just glorified vitamin c drops but they taste decent if you like that sort of thing & appear to be organic, too.
How much of the probiotic do you use for your cat, and how much does he weigh?

In truth, I only tried this specific probiotic because it was already in the house (FARR last year) & when it worked for her, stuck with it.

Under the advise of my vet to address her lifelong stomach & immune issues I do this-
Started with a whole capsule & then gradually decreased amount. I just open the capsule, sprinkle out some & put it back together. use dry fingers.
She gets about 1/4 cup warm water w/ tsp. canned food & about 1/14th (sprinkling?) of probiotic. After she finishes that she gets her bowl of dry limited ingredient food doused with dry metamucil 2x day. 3 times if she wants it. She has gained weight on this regime- up a lb. to about 6 lbs. & she acts more like a more normal cat since she feels so much better.
We took her in 12 years ago as a foster kitten- she had debilitating diarrhea plus she had scar tissue from being burned with some liquid so was not very adoptable. HTH your cat
