Thread Details

I think this would be a great outlet to post our concerns, rants, etc.....on our WAGS experiences due to low stock, new ECers, & S&Gers.

For what it's worth I do believe that low stock is more of an issue than S&Gers, but they and new ECers are definitely playing a huge role in the issues that we are all encountering. Frown

Instead of saying Hello, there are so many that ignore you or give you the eye and look in your cart. WTF?? To have 'Security' walk the floor, would make you think someone is trying to steal something. Do they really have a "Security" person, anyway??? No! They let people walk out with stuff. I've seen it first hand. I'm really so tired of their attitudes!
Hope you can find somewhere to complain about him. Good luck!
LOL, yeah, after I posted before I realized - I never even saw a security person in the store, EVER, not even today when they were called. shake head So I doubt they even have one. Probably just a lame scare tactic.

The store used to be really bad with coupons to the point they wouldn't follow their own policy (of adjusting the Q down among other things) and never had anything in stock. Lately, they've improved and it's been ...dare I say slightly pleasant to shop there? They are not great, but improving and far from how they used to be.

Aside from the manager's attitude, of course.

My local Walmart just up the street from my Wags was scammed big time from some dude walking right out of the door with thousands of dollars worth of Tide and other items. I think the story was even on CNN, it was that crazy. He finally got caught and since then the Tide at this Wags is locked behind glass. LOL

So, I guess he assumes all customers are thieves and scammers until proven otherwise. lol

Well, I am going to continue shopping there and kill him with kindness and hopefully he'll ease off and realize I am a loyal freaking customer that brings a lot of business to the store.

They would probably have a code for "Security' not just announce it right out. After that, I don't know what they'd so, since there aren't any 'security' people, maybe management would have to walk around or something, but they don't stop people, as far as I know. I have seen people stopped/caught in CVS. So who knows what each store does or is allowed to do in such a case.

What Marciadel said. Just like the IC3 code, etc. Someone at your store is seriously full of it.

Yeah, I figured that, especially since no security guy was ever walking around. lol

On another note, all the Halloween stuff was picked over and nothing good was left, still only 50% off.
I looked at some of the Christmas stuff and they had cappuccino Jelly Belly candy canes!! I have to get some! Big Grin

I have been to some stores that have a security guard. Like a rent-a-cop. And if a store is going to the trouble and expense to have such a person, you are certainly going to know about it.

The behavior of that store manager is probably something that would push me to the point that I'd start calling Wag corporate. And you all know that I never call, so this is pretty huge. That has a discrimination and intimidation lawsuit written all over it.

I always think of "I see three people waiting in line" for IC3!

Seen security guards at the 24 hour WAGs & CVS. They seem more concerned about armed robbery, assaults and parking lot sex crimes than shoplifters.
Guards usually just work the late to dawn shift except for the Beverly Hills CVS, can't figure out why they have a day time guard. They have the worst set up for robberies.

I was in a store on Sat. when the announcement came on "security scan the floors". This is a Wags I am always in and I have never heard that before. I've also noticed them using some new codes lately too, so maybe Wags is trying some new and improved security, no matter how lame.

As far as Sweetdiggity's manager, eh, they're the kind you just take amusement in annoying as long as they still *begrudgingly* allow you to do your transactions. It just boils down to they're too stupid to figure out how to do any deals themselves which means they just *know* you are screwing them royally.

Well, thats exactly what it means!

It always makes me think of the kid saying "I see dead people". Not going to make a comment relating that to some employees.....shake head

Ok, not sure if I'm just being paranoid now or if the manager at my closest Wags hates me.
I mentioned last week in the weekly thread that I had mistakenly grabbed the wrong toothpaste for the Colgate RR deal and the manager said "I can't cheat the system" and "some people think..."
Not sure where he was going then as I interrupted him to say I wasn't trying to cheat anyone, it was a mistake. I returned the toothpaste, got the right kind, end of story.

That was the second time he insinuated that I or other couponers try to cheat the system and scam the store. (The first time was when a legitimate coupon wouldn't scan and had to be entered)

I always follow the wording on the Qs, follow policies, etc and "play by the rules" so when he went there the second time with me I got quite annoyed.

Today, I went in to get my stuff and less than a minute after the manager saw me I heard the announcement "security, walk the floor."

LMAO

Either it is a routine thing that over my many years of shopping at this store I have happened to just never hear it, the manager thinks I'm a scam artist or it was just a coincidence. LOL

I know there are people that misuse coupons as my local stores have gotten strict with Qs because of it, but I hate feeling like I'm being lumped into some group of people the manager dislikes when I have done nothing wrong. Ugh.
For 2 incidents described this manager deserved a call to the corp. Not sure what they would do to him, but this type of complaints would create a record to prove his low suitability for customer service job.

If I'd get upset every time someone look in my cart and/or I hear security alert while I'm in the store, I'd be in psychiatric ward permanently. Stick Out Tongue Just do not get it why it should bother me if AFAIK I do not have done anything wrong/unlawful in the store.

Some stores have security people in uniform, some have plain clothes people guarding the store. Yes, "security" may also mean member of management have been specifically trained and assigned security duties, able to approach the suspect.

If you want to get paranoid about it, the manager may have told the cashier to page him the next time you come in. The manager doesn't have to follow you around the store. He can just go in the office and watch the security cameras. They do that most of the day anyway. You're always being watched and recorded when you shop at wags. If I was concerned abut the page, I'd flat out ask the cashier what's up (instead of jumping to conclusions that may or may not be correct). I did this once at CVS when I heard the page right as I walked in and the cashier told me that there were a couple of guys in the store who always steal stuff and she was alerting the manager. It had nothing to do with me.

As far as being watched, rumor has it that the DM can watch all of the beauty counters from his office. I don't know if this is true or not. I do know that at some wags they can listen in at the beauty counter as well as watch what's going on.

Another possibility with the page is that loss prevention might have been in the store. LP would be plainclothes and look like another shopper.

I updated the original FAQ thread a long time ago ... then someone else started a "How To Wags 101" thread about the same time, which I guess people thought was better and were pointing newbies to that thread instead - so I didn't invest any more time in the FAQ thread. Both of those are rather ancient now and the person who wrote the 101 thread doesn't post in the Wag threads anymore.

I could try to dust off the FAQ thread if desired. Actually, per nuff, it's rather hard to revive threads that have been banished to the archive - just start a new thread with the same title.

The Balance Rewards thread is still good, though.!!
I think I started the original FAQ thread. Back then we just had the rebates in the monthly book. Then the RR's came. Gosh...remember how we could just roll and roll? Covergirl clearance ring a bell? Big Grin Someone who I don't want to name rewrote the "how to" thread and as far as I know is not on SD anymore.

I tried searching and nothing came up. It's like this chat thread...lol! I need to remember to bookmark it.

I am having withdrawals. I am going this week to get the pumpkin and baking stuff.
Sad...Frown I really hope the BF ad is good. Has anyone heard or seen anything?

Anyone had noticed that just this year most of drug and grocery stores have done lots to their registers and policies? Wags had most of updates in the last year or so, CVS within 3-5 mo. have done more then last 5+ years.. lots of grocery stores around here tightened up their software, as far as I heard large grocery stores midwest stop doubling..
Do not think all above are the signs of good growing economy..

I took my Girl Scout troop to a different chain. The store manager took us to their security monitors' room and let the girls take turns "playing" security. You could zoom right in and see anything you wanted. We are more watched than we care to believe. Coupon users don't need to steal, we already get free stuff and many of us share tips, as well as coupons with employees.
