Feel free to discuss complaints, shopping trips, etc.......CVS related and off topic too! I'm hoping this will unclog the weekly threads a bit. Smilie

I thought they did pretty good with junk food munchies & alcohol. Interesting mix of customers just before midnight.

We paid $11.99 for ours about two weeks ago.

Oh, and they pointed out to us that they only do pictures for American passports! I guess that's what I get for living in a state so close to Mexico!!
the reason for that is that many countries have different requirements for pictures. for example my country requires pictures with no smile and have different requirements for sizes and how the face is centered. i had done pictures at cvs before going to the embassy and i coudn't use them!

I got the quarterly savings email today. I haven't noticed before, but it gave me a sort of "standing" in the savings percentage. After all the figures, it tells me I'm in the top 6% of savers. Has it always been that way, and I just didn't notice, or is this something new?
I need to revise that: I checked again in the small print, and it is a yearly statement, from Aug.13 2013 to Aug.13 2014.

$11.99 here in NY too. And dont bother going the do it yourself route at the kiosk, $11.99 there too.

If you have a digital cam, just take your own photos. Find a white to cream-colored plain wall in your house. Use the US govt's website to edit your photo to meet the requirements (size of face, centered, etc.):

http://travel.state.gov/content/p...plate.html
http://travel.state.gov/content/d...ropper.swf

Then paste your edited photo onto a 4x6 page (Photoshop, MS Publisher, any software that allows you to later save/export to jpeg). Two 2x2 fits into a 4x6 page. Then submit your jpeg online for printing and pickup. I don't know how much CVS currently charges per 4x6 photo. The last time (last year) I had passport photos printed, I used Walgreens and paid $0.20 per 4x6 photo. I ordered 4 pcs (eight 2x2 photos) = $0.80 + tax!

You'll have to cut the photos yourself.

I try not to spend more than $2 and often get it down to $1.

Tinny rant... But about a customer.

Took granny to CVS and outside a woman in her mid 30s was pompously telling her friend that she wouldn't let go the 2nd $5 ECB she was owed for the Renu solution. Cashier apparently told her it was limit 1 so the woman made a scene that she was going to return it all coz she didn't want it then. But she was holding two boxes triumphantly so I bet she got what she wanted.
Been out of the CVS loop so I hadn't seen the add yet and had to make sure my kids didn't try to run through the store but damn I wish I had known so I could have shut her up.

Reading is fundamental!

I rolled all my ecbs just before and the week of the faecb CVS items. I haven't spent a penny in there yet because the deals have been so bad since. I'm going to try to roll a few this week just so I am not stuck next week when there's still nothing great to buy!

There's a red hot deal this Saturday if you can get your papers early. Garnier is on sale for $2.99 - $2 MQ (that's the Sunday inserts) and $10 GC wyb $30. Use $10 in ECB's to pay for the first deal and the roll the GC. In the end, you'll have a $10 GC left to replace the ECB's you started with and the tax will be covered by the beauty bucks you'll be earning. A totally free transaction except for the cost of the papers/coupons.

Thanks, my only hope of that is if I can find the coupons to buy and get them here in time, which isn't likely. Nope, our papers do not make the coupons available early. Well, once in a blue moon I find a way to get some early, but only by sheer luck! That is a great deal though.

I'm not sure getting papers would be worth it. $2 for a paper to get a $2 coupon. A year ago when I could get the paper for $1 and get the Garnier and Tena coupons plus all of the other coupons in the paper, I probably would've jumped at it. I think Tena will end up being a mm somewhere. It already is at CVS with the crt's I have but I need to find a store with a lot of stock and that might not be very easy. I went to a bunch of CVS's yesterday and I didn't see a lot of Tena. The pads are with feminine care and with the adult stuff so you have to do a lot of looking to see what's there.
