Feel free to discuss complaints, shopping trips, etc.......CVS related and off topic too! I'm hoping this will unclog the weekly threads a bit. Smilie

UGH, I hate that when they ask what you do with all this stuff! Like it's any of their business! There is one cashier who would always ask me if I was going to "use all of this" whenever I was buying a large quantity of something. Well, one time I had a box of condoms in my order and as she was scanning, I picked it up and told her that yes, I would be using these! Big Grin She turned about 5 shades of red and has never asked me since! laugh out loud

I am so glad my CVS, most of the employees know me and don't give me a hard time. If they ask me what I do with my stuff, well I share with others not so fortunate in my family and at shelters. Really it is none of their business. Lucky so far no one has asked me. I think it helps the mgr is a couponer herself.

I rarely shelf clear with coupons, too many limits but I do shelf clear 70% - 95% clearance ( with or without coupons).

I don't resell but when I am asked, usually I just tell the truth --- depending on what the item is --- gift closet, balikbayan box, toys for tots, Salvation Army angel tree, etc...

Usually the question is Balikbayan box? So I just smile & say yes.

But I will admit, I haven't done a big deal with K-Y or Trojans etc.... probably the most sensitive item would have been the free Poise items...or the Stayfree/ Carefree items...or the various WAGs snake oil of the week specials...

No resell here for me. And I usually am not a shelf clearing person. I don't get enough coupons to do that. On Clearance depends on item.

This is totally not specific to my shopping at CVS, but I found it interesting and have been meaning to post it. Last week, when it was announced that the three friends of the bombing suspect were arrested, one of the key news stations (FOX maybe?) was talking about what they took out of the suspect's room. One of the items they took was a container of vaseline.

The commentator stated, '...When I walk into CVS and see a container of vaseline, the first thing I think of is not "I'm gonna make a bomb!"...'

If I returned an item that had earned me ECB would I lose the ECB?

For example, I purchased x item today and I earned $10 in ECB because I spent $30 in x category. That item cost $40 and was the only item purchased to earn the ECB.

If I return the item, do I lose the ECB?

Some stores will treat you different from others. Some will gladly take the return and tell you specifically to keep the ecb. Other stores will question you returning the item, or ask for the ecb back.

Just keep in mind that either way, the store might very well look down upon you, thinking that you planned it this way, to get the $10 ecb 'free' by buying the item and returning it. I know that is how some of my favorite cashiers who are extra friendly see it, because they tell me about people who have done it, or tried to do it, depending on the circumstance.

I guess the real question that you have to ask and answer to yourself is why you bought the item and why you now want to return it.

Can someone please clarify the Kimberly Clark rebate. I've been getting so much conflicting information. Is it based on the before coupon total ??

Thanks.

Is there an official policy?

The item is significantly cheaper at another store. I should've done a price comparison before I purchased, oh well.

I think most people around here who are long-time coupon shoppers will consider this as tuition, so to speak. I've been in your spot, however, and money has been tight. I still want to keep my good relationship with my stores, so when I did return a few months ago, I took the item and full receipt (including ECBs). I tore off the one that belonged to the item being returned and told them specifically that I'd gotten that back from that deal. When the cashier said to just keep it, I told them, "I tell you what, I didn't earn it 'cause I'm returning the item. Why don't you just throw it away for me, please?" And I tore it in half and gave it to her. No question on whether I'd sneak to the next store and use it. It helped keep my conscience clear and would give no doubt to the staff on that store whether I was one of "those" couponers Wink

alright I tried looking this up ... I give up...kids won't nap laugh out loud
time to ask the smarty pants/skirts up in here

I just signed up for Beauty rewards Friday ... dumb me, purchased a bunch of things that I think would have qualified in the same tranny as enrollment (like dermasilk, eucerin lotion, SH nail polish) and used 30% off q. Did I just shoot myself in the foot and it won't count....meaning I should have enrolled in a random tranny and then made another tranny w/ these items that qualify.

Did I read correctly that the full value of the product as it rings up counts (i.e. %, ECB, and magic box qs won't reduce the value)?

Okay I thought it would print right away but now I just read **Your ExtraBucks® Rewards will print on your receipt or at the ExtraCare Coupon Center two days following qualifying purchase(s)**. Now I will just hope the following counted:
20.99 dermasilk
21.96 eucerin small hand lotions
11.58 SH nail polish
Also used $5/$25, mqs on all, 30%
Not sure it matters but I got Crest and cvs cough drops and used magic box CRTs. I hope that doesn't affect the total somehow attaching to that (I'm just being paranoid since I don't CVS much Wink ).

I'll have to read up a bit more to know exactly what qualified (I see the categories online though) and how to track things.

It was an amazing trip thanks to everyone on the weekly thread hug. I was taking Granny to get copies of photos at her CVS w/ her fav cashier and she absolutely wanted to pay for whatever I wanted (she is soooooo sweet). So the total was like $90 before qs which kind of scared her, then after qs/discounts and $14.67ECB it got to 60c subtotal for her grand total of $3.xx and $35ECBs.

Thanks again hug
