Prayer Request Thread.

I'm changin my post now since my papaw is home and feeling better now. This thread is for anyone to use and post their own requests. Lux took my post from another thread and made this a separate thread just for that reason. Please do not hesitate to make requests cause you might be surprised at the support you will get from the loungers!!

Here is my original request...
Sorry I know this is off-topic but there seem to be some religious people in here right now.

Please say a prayer for my grandfather cause my mom just called and said he just called her and she is taking him to the emergency room. He is having pains (chest, I believe). It scares me cause he had a heart attack last summer and then a 5 bypass surgery. So now I'm heading to meet them at the hospital. Thanks!

I heart my Papaw!

Prayers for both of my parents, please. One is on their death bed. The other is seriously mentally ill and not expected to improve.

I once gave a friend who was having a hard time a roll of nickels in a small Christmas stocking at a gift exchange. He laughed hysterically; no one else got the joke.
Oh, how funny!

I'm asking for prayers for our family, as my FIL passed away last night. Considering that he had pancreatic cancer, and was out driving his golf cart three days ago, we were blessed that he only took a downward turn two days ago and then passed in his sleep last night.

"Happiness and depression are both feelings, just like joy and anger. It's not feelings that give us problems. It's what we do with them that makes the difference."

"When I was 5 years old, my mom always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down happy. They told me I didn't understand the assignment and I told them they didn't understand life."

Please keep those in Louisiana in your thoughts and prayers. So many have lost so much and there is more rain predicted. Recovery is going to take some time. Some areas have had over 25" of rain.

We are so lucky. We had a good bit of rain, but nothing like those a few miles from us. A town, less than 10 miles away, is still under curfew, as is much of the lower portion of the state. Rain is expected all week.

Thanks for thinking of us! heart

I'm sorry that you are having to go through all of this, when you should be focusing your time and energy on your mom. You should be making memories, not lawyer appointments. hug

The State wants your money and all probate judges and attorneys and doctors in probate are in each other's good graces if not pockets. Many people will get dementia and most wont know it. Pardon the bad abstract pun, but if they do know it, they'll quickly forget.

Trouble is, you'll move money around and do things like throw away your durable power of attorney. It can be a real farkin' mess. And if you have any money you're just a sitting duck for the State to come in, take over, spend all your assets on their own agencies and services, and even prevent your loved ones from ever seeing you again if they speak out against it.

It is one of the lowest most disgusting practices on the planet. My mom had some complications but pulled through. Going back again in a few minutes.

This is why DH and I, when we were in our 40s went ahead and did all that sort of paperwork and sent copies to two different family members and a trusted friend of ours for safe keeping, in addition to the copies in the fire safe. You just never know what's going to happen or when.

It's important to do that! The funeral home where we held services for DH 's father gave us a planning folder and it included the forms for medical power of attorney, living wills, and lots of other things that everyone needs to decide about and info on how to make everything binding.

Good morning everyone. Smilie I found myself here while looking for another thread. I honestly don't know how to ask for help. I've always done my best with what I am given. Based on my religion, my general attitude is that everything happens for a reason/it's karma.

So, here I go. I will attempt to rip the bandage off quickly so as the pain is minimal. I will be brutally honest. I/we need help! I ask that you not pray for me but to instead pray for my kitty who needs $1,112 for a HUGE vet bill.

Again, all I ask is for is prayers for a very sweet kitty and that she gets what she needs.

If you feel compelled to know more, please... privately message me.

Blessed be and keep sweet you all! Smilie
