While their policy is no price adjustment, you could *try*. *Some* people will do it.

Alternatively, wouldn't it be a shame if the one you had ordered was "broken" (nothing physically wrong -- just didn't work)... while you might not have it yet, your sixth sense is telling you this, hence why you order a new one (at the lower price)...

I was thinking the same thing.
Will Amazon pay to have it shipped back to them?
I have tried 2 chats and it's been a no-go so far.
Each CSR said the exact same thing (copy and paste I'm sure)

thumbs up for price.. i was going to get cable/FIOS with this after reading numerous reviews and boards, but after accounting for monthly costs and my actual needs (no gaming, no HD netflix channels, no TV service) i opted for dry loop DSL Frown wish i had some more expendable income

Amazon will pay for shipping back depending on the reason it is being shipped back. If it is defective, fraudulently ordered, and a few other reasons, it's on Amazon's dime. If you simply don't like it, it's on your dime. I am not advocating you act in a fraudulent and deceitful manner... But if the thing doesn't work, it doesn't work... and who knows, maybe you do have psychic powers to know it doesn't work without even having to connect it.... Smilie

That said, is it worth $6 to go thru the hassle? After all, you have to box it up & ship it back, go to your local UPS store, and wait for them to refund your CC. The principle is definitely there (and frustrating), and while if I were in your shoes, I'd be ticked (and just might do it), I would probably burn more than $6 of my time in the process, therefore a lose-lose for both myself and Amazon.

So you presumably just check e-mail, Facebook, and SD? Are you good friends with your immediate neighbors? Perhaps you could tap-into their Wi-Fi signal?

If they haven't shipped it yet, just cancel and reorder at the new price.

If they have shipped it already, just refuse acceptance of the package when it shows up. I believe as long as you do not accept/open the package, Amazon pays for the return shipment.

Most of the time, if you explain to the Amazon CSR that you will refuse the package if they do not credit the difference in price, they will budge and offer you the credit.

Have been eyeing this modem for a while. Thought it's going on clearance at Target but the price is still $90. Saw the modem at Costco as well for about $75 + tax. $70 without tax is a good deal.

Don't forget the 2% cashback by Discover Card.

I don't have the option of refusing delivery b/c they always leave it at my door while I am at work.
It's too late anyway, it's already here and I just opened it and activated it with Comcast.

It seems like all the new modems don't have RJ11 ports on them. Are people not getting home phone service any more? **old school**

It will work but it won't be the most efficient. You need a gigabit N router to see the best performance with this modem.

I thought about it. Amazon is going for about $90 for the 6121 model. Not sure if you can PM it. Even if you can, I thought about the tax + not so rave reviews (hot, not compatible with Comcast, etc). I gave it a pass eventually. Oh well.
