Something wrong with my TP running Android. Was running CM9 (9/2012 nightly) for a long time and no problem. Then today notice the TP was stucked in the boot animation even though I didn't reboot it. Somehow it must reboot itself and stucked at boot for the whole day. Shut it down using hard reset. After that, whenever try to boot to CM9, it just stuck in boot animation. Can get to webOS or CWM just fine. Tried wipe cache partition and Fix permissions, didn't help and still stuck at CM9 boot animation. Since I can still get to WebOS and CWM, should I try to update to the latest CM9 nightly to see if that help? Try to avoid reinstall all the Android apps if I can.

Any nightly that you can flash, will probably do the trick.

The problem I did encounter was when I tried to update to latest Chrome last week, it complain about not enough storage. So I moved one of the game to "SD card" few days ago and I was able to upgrade Google Chrome. No problem afterward until today. Hopefully update to latest nightly solve the stuck at boot animation problem.

I had a similiar problem the other day with my touchpad on CM9. It was also stuck in the boot animation for the entire day and would not respond to any push of the buttons. I removed the TP from the charger and let the battery die. After the battery died I was able to charge the TP with the wall charger and boot up normally. Working great again.

This is beginning to sound like the ultimate cure for whatever ails the TP.

For those who wonder if there was a backup supply you could use for your iphone/HP Touchpad/Ipad or whatever, I did a test of the Trent NT120T EnerPak 12000mah since I bought it recently from a recent Slickdeal thread found below.

http://slickdeals.net/f/5903108-New-Trent-NT120T-12000mAh-2A-1A-Dual-USB-Port-External-Battery-Pack-31-with-free-shipping?v=1

It worked good enough for me so I thought I would post my test trials.

Here are my lab tests:

I can confirm that when the HP Touchpad is completely off, this backup battery does charge the HP Touchpad. No Problems.

When the Touchpad is on or the screen is off while in WebOS, the Touchpad complains once about low amp ( I just clear the notification on the popup) but it still charges. Whether I am doing something or have the screen off, the HP Touchpad will charge off the Trent NT120T. No problems. Just as a side note, I used the Trent cord and firewire connector to charge up the Touchpad. Did not use the HP cord at all. It worked fine. I used the iPhone cord to charge between Trent and iPhone.

While testing on the Android side ( if you have dual boot), I did not get any warnings and charged fine without any warning notifications. No Problems.

If I need the Touchpad for something and it is low on battery, I will hook up the Trent and keep going. If I don't need the Touchpad, I will turn it off and charge either from Trent or wall socket depending on where I'm at.

No problem with the iphone. Charges with no warnings with the iphone off or on. Does not matter.

The Trent came 90 percent charged. It took maybe an hour or so to reach 100 percent.

A final note, once the Trent button is pushed to begin charging the iphone or Touchpad/Ipad, the battery indicater on the Trent will light up to let you know where the Trent stands on power itself, then the light will go off on the Trent. No worries, the Trent is still charging. Smilie

As always, YMMV depending on conditions and user variations.

Look over the last few pages, especially the adventures of BostonGirl.

Several people have had luck leaving it off the charger for four days until its dead, and then it charges.

It is like my Droid X2 phone. It will ocaisionally lock up and not respond to push of any buttons. I have to remove the battery and let it reboot and all is fine. Can not remove the battery on the touchpad, so you have to wait until the battery dies and then charge and reboot.

That's the problem, right there, not being able to remove/disconnect the battery.
I can't tell you how many times I've done that. to get a machine going again, but it's virtually impossible to do, with tablets.

hey guys, need help..

i have a tp on webos and i want to install android on it to give it to a 10yr old. The kid is in japan so obviously i won't have physical access to the unit and she doesn't know squat about maintaining the unit...hence, i need a rom thats very, VERY stable, and that requires no extra tweaking of anykind after i ship it. Everything must work - skype, wifi, bt, camera, goog play, amz apps, kindle etc.

I figure i've waited 2+ yrs, there must be a stable release rom by now ...not beta or other(pls say yes).
I've done some research and its confusing as hell...like cm9/10... Confused

anyway, help point me in the right direction...much appreciated.

Both 9 and 10 (ICS and JB) are very stable with everything working.

Only thing I would add is to tell her to plug it in every night and when she's not using it for long periods of time (24hrs +) to prevent the stuck boot problems unless this has been fixed.

so I'm sure its been discussed, but I can't find it.
But I've got 4 TP's and I'm starting to get that not enough storage message when updating apps on some of them.

they are all 32GB tablets and I have tons of memory left. I understand that there is a limited amount of memory that is reserved for apps. But is there some way to up that memory?
