Renewing with Dish Network--Deal ideas?

dchay 981 297 November 6, 2011 at 07:22 PM
My 2 year commitment with Dish is ending in Feb and I'm looking for renewal deals. In talking with their CSR's, so far the best I've been offered is free programming or a discounted upgrade to their 922 DVR. What I'd really like are actual credits or their sling adapter for free.

Any suggestions or ideas?

Has anyone had experience with canceling and signing up again? Any idea how long I'd have to be canceled before I could sign up again?

I won't go back to cable. DirectTV is tempting but initially but after their discounts run out they are more then Dish for me. I have ooma for my phone so triple plays are irrelevant. Fios and Uverse are not available at my address.

You might want to check out the following thread which a Dish rep (DISH_Matt) who has been helping SD'ers with the deal.

You might have to cancel and signup under spouse's/partner's name.

Thanks for the spouse idea--that might be a good option for me. Any sense of whether it's as simple as a name change vs them having a record of my address?
