Comcast - $25 for Economy Internet and Limited Basic Cable - Existing Customers - YMMV

I just got done with online chat support and they reduced my bill from $46.90 to $25(both are before taxes). I simply told them I was looking for a way to lower my bill for an account that was in good standing.

BEFORE:
Economy Internet - $26.95
Limited Basic Cable - $19.95

AFTER:
Economy Internet + Limited Basic Cable - $25.00

I do own my own modem, so I also save $5/month that way as well. I am also an existing customer with no late payments since start of service in May 2010. I am located in Lancaster, PA. I thought this was a good deal and wanted to pass on the possible savings.

please update the wiki if it worked in your area

Got it in San Jose, CA for 6 months. It's $14.99 for internet and $10 for basic cable.

Comcast does HARD CREDIT PULL/INQUIRY for TV and Internet subscriber, so be mindful of that, it asks for all your info including SS number.

a helpful article [lifehacker.com] about other services which may reduce based on "threat to cancel". I know, this isn't necessarily new info - some may find it helpful tho'.

Comcast is so ymmv with their deals.. I got on 19.99 for a year (took like 5 calls with each rep offering something different).. after the year was over, all I could do was $29.99 for 6 months which is getting over soon.. their regular price is $50 something.. what a rip off..

1.5Mbps. Its fine for regular internet use, but for downloading large files, it takes a while. I got used to 30Mbps using Blast! from a previous deal I found on here for $29.99.

That's pretty much how it started for me. $29.99 for Blast! and then Comcast offered me $5 for Limited Basic Cable. Both my promotions went off the other month, so I figured I'd drop cable since I don't use it much. Comcast never told my that if I don't have cable my internet would go from $26.95 to $42.95 and by dropping cable I would save $5 on my bill.

Living in California, I wish I there were more alternatives for Internet, namely Fiber Optic ISP's. Unfortunately, we don't, but I can at least make the best out of it, and get signed up to Comcast at these prices. Great find!

It's the regular price for every body. You don't have to make calls. Not even a deal. OK?

But the price $19.99 is a good price and a deal. I had it before for 6 month. But I can't find it anymore. Actually, for comcast, you do have cable. at least basic cable. just plug the cable into your TV, you can watch at least 10 channels.

I call them and threaten to cancel every cycle. I have it on my outlook calendar. Every time the person tells me it's the last time, and I say fine, there's two competitors who want my business and have lower prices.

Been 3 or so years now, and both phone and cable companies give me credit to stay with them. ALWAYS complain about the price and demand to go lower. ALWAYS. You have options, no matter what they say. Even if you live in the middle of nowhere, you have an option to have no service.

Interesting twist - in my area, they cannot cut you off completely as those basic channels are the ones that would come "free" with bunny ears. As part of the negotiation with our city (who took them to court along with a few others), they have to provide those channels always, and even provide a decoder box as needed free of charge. They will act like you need to pay, but as soon as you call them on it, they back down.

Not sure netflix or my ooma would even work with 1.5mps. I've been with com cast for 8 years, always calling every 6 months or so to lower the bill..

I don't have cable at all but I was looking at the OTA channels through my tv and they are only in SD, not HD, and there's only like three channels.. What gives? Is Comcast blocking these too, isn't that illegal?
