ERViewer.ocx error help

thenewdeal 508 138 January 4, 2012 at 07:04 AM
Hello,

Wondering if anyone can help me out on this. I'm trying to log onto a video stream (my child's daycare) and when I click on the video feed link, it keeps giving me this error:

"Please Check ERViewer.ocx installation is correct. Current version is 1.6.0"

I've gotten this error on a few computers, so I'm not sure if it is on my end or theirs. Also, it will not let me use Chrome or Firefox, It gives me the "Not Microsoft IE" error,

It seems ERViewer.ocx has something to do with activex, but I don't think I have it installed. Does anyone know if this is something I can download, or if I should contact them about the error?

TIA

The OCX file is going to be part of an applet, I'm assuming the one that shows the video stream. (And yes, it will only run on IE)

If its occurring on multiple computers, I'd say it's probably something on their end. One thing I'd try is go into C:\Windows\Downloaded Program Files\ and see if you see the applet/application listed in there and uninstall it. Then close all browsers, open up a fresh IE window and connect to the site, it should re-download the applet. (You might need to add the website to the Trusted zone to get it to work.)

If all that doesn't work, I'd say contact whomever runs their website.

Hi n30 - I went to those instructions first, with no luck. It was the only thing that came up when I googled that seemed relevant.

I contacted them (the daycare) and they were able to confirm it did work on their end - so it is something going on with my pc.

ok, I think i figured it out. I'm on a work pc not letting me install the activex (i tried my home pc with splashtop and it's prompting for an activex control. Not having much luck installing it at home, but I'm going through an itouch and it's a pain. Anyway, the file i need is mp4dvr.cab - anyway I can download it without going through activex?
