I bought a refurbished turtle beach x31 headset off here.

How do I get audio from the tv to my headset? I hooked those red and white audio wires into my tv's red/white audio outs and ran it to the receiver, but to no avail. I can talk through the headset, but the audio is only coming out of the tv. I can't hear anything through the headset.

Do I need to buy red and white audio cables and hook it up to some little receiver that wasn't included with the headset? If so that seems silly they didn't include one. They only gave me the red and white cables that have the back ends so you could plug in another pair of red and white cables.

I tried googling it and it just confuses me even more, so don't flame me for it.

Using xbox 360 slim and hooking it up to 2 year old vizio 55 inch led lcd

Are you sure that your tv actually outputs audio through the RCA cables? It may actually be an audio in jack.

Try running audio from your xbox into the headphone receiver, try it with the wires that came with the xbox. If that works, you will need to come up with a better wiring option to get both tv and headphone audio, or just swap wires back and forth.

More than likely your TV only has audio inputs not outputs. So you need to hookup your x31 into the device that you are sending your signal to the TV with.

I agree, your TV may not have audio output and you would probably have to hook it up to the device your using.
