not that anyone who already has a disney account doesnt already know this, but you should really read:

'Get 5 Disney Movies For $5, Plus 500 Disney Movie Rewards Points Offer, when you join the Disney Movie Club, which requires additional mandatory purchases priced at Disneys' discretion!'.

not quite the same ring to it eh?

Sounded too good to be true...

From the T&C:
Quote :
As a Disney Movie Club member, all you need to do is buy 5 movies at regular Club prices in the next 24 months (starting at $19.95 per DVD and $29.95 per Blu-ray), plus shipping and processing of $3.95 for the first title in each order, and $1.49 for each additional title in that same order. You may cancel your membership at any time after purchasing the 5 movies.

By agreeing to purchase at least 5 regular-priced movies in the next 24 months, you qualify to receive 5 Disney movies of your choice from the list of titles currently available from the Disney Movie Club for $5.00 total. Shipping and processing is free. Please allow 2-4 weeks to receive your first shipment.
So to get 5 movies for $5, you have to agree to buy an additional 5 movies at $20-30 each. Uh, no thanks.

Be very careful with this garbage. About a year ago I randomly picked up my mail and inside was 5 disney DVDs, addressed to me, that I had no clue about. Never touched them, I knew something was fishey.

Next week, saw about a $20 charge on my credit card from disney movie rewards. I never signed up for anything disney, nor do I even personally like disney much. Took about a month to get rid of this "subscription," going back and forth with Chase claiming credit fraud, and this "nonexistent" branch of disney that does not have a working CSR line, doesn't have an e-mail, just a "mailing address" that should really be renamed to 1 Black Hole Lane, Middle of Nowhere.

Reminds me of the dorks that bought Star Trek episodes for 30 bucks for one VHS tape back in the early 90s. I'm a fan of Star Trek but that was nuts!!!

I was lead developer for the BMG CD club when it was online - it was yourmusic.com at that point. The model had changed slightly, but there were still lots of customers because the deals were, on the whole, not too bad. Prices were no longer retail at that point. Had the labels not decided that they did not want to sell CDs that cheaply and pulled out it still might be going on to this day because some people still like physical media if it is cheap enough. I was able to get a lot of special edition CDs (usually with bonus discs) at $5 then eventually $6 each, which is cheaper than even the iTunes store.
