I had "won" $50 in Total Rewards comp credits in this promotion, in the Spring. For winners $50 and above, they required you to get a tax form notarized and said they needed your social security number so that they could sent tax info to the IRS. I said to myself this was not worth it, getting a $17 or so tax liability for $50 in comps, especially since I already have a balance of $100's in my account which I haven't yet used. So, I didn't bother sending them the required form.
Well I just received my Total Rewards August statement. I had no play anywhere and did not use my card. My last date of play date is correct (pre August), yet the statement says that I earned $50 in reward credits! I believe it is almost certain that CET decided to process the credits without the tax form! Very surprising!
Anyone else notice this that didn't mail in the notarized form in the Spring?
Once we actually booked our flights and full itinerary, they actually mailed us a $1000 visa debit card which we can really use anywhere, in vegas or out of vegas. We plan to use now on everyday shopping and it now allows us to eat wherever in Vegas on our trip. Loving this promotion even more now.
